Keep spinning the myth, Thatcher wasted the North Sea Oil bonanza, sold off state assets, ushered in globalisation, shut down much of UK industry and created the monster of "The City" in order to buy your votes. That wasn't money you Boomers earned, it was windfalls and what previous generations had built. That is why millenials can't afford housing, your selfishness. That is why the UK has a low wage, low productivity, low skills economy. You may well have worked hard, but you also wasted the country you inherited.

It actually reads... "There are FEW calls for Farke to be dismissed" So, really, kind of ended up looking a bit silly here.

So like many on here, I own and run a business. Last year we had our best year ever, securing a new contract with a new supplier. For the last few years we had a hard time, but our customers stood by us and with our new supplier on board for some reason a very few of our customers are not happy. Price is not a factor and all our customers renewed licences. Supply and demand.. we have that pretty well sorted, even our recent roadshows in Bournemouth and Brighton you could still get a late entry ticket. Just for some strange reason my company is dealing with a string of crap out in media sites from a small number of customers. Our customers were communicated with, fully aware of the companies position, fully aware of the strategy that was in place and the way it had to be executed. At no point over the last 24 months have I had one and I mean one direct communication from a customer who was willing to share their, let's call it... "secret EPL sauce" on how to secure a never ending contract that pays every year without fail, backed up by experience and all let's throw in a PowerPoint or two....Nothing... but now we have to listen to moaning with no solutions other than the total opposite strategy of change ownership, invest huge money and change management... I'm totally confused, our customers I see as our greatest supporters, and now at a time when my business needs them the most, a noisy few are unhappy with my strategy that I have masterminded with my management team. That is what landed us the new contract. We are years ahead of our competition, we have plans in place if our new supplier decides to cut the contract, we have plans in place if they wish to continue. So for my customers who understand and are fully on board with our strategy, I thank them and look forward to offering a business to support for many family generations to come. For those who have feelings and emotions the that my business is not on the right path. Well this website has an upload feature, upload your secret sauce and I will be sure to reply.

I echo the sentiment above. Well done Pete, thank God you're here. No kiss of death in this. Farke is going nowhere, and rightly so. We can't allow him to surpass expectations so incredibly and then judge him harshly so quickly. I believe that this 'vote of confidence' is exactly that, which I appreciate is a novelty in this day and age. But again, thanks for chipping in, kind of. Good luck tonight* *I don't mean that.

That’s a great post Pete. Very informative and much appreciated. Come on the Super Blews. Col Utd tonight ? What ya reckon?

Actually think he is exactly what we need at the moment... Captain material, a calmness and all those last ditch tackles.. will be a welcome addition back into the side.

I’m more worried about the fact that Keith Scott has managed to get 8 likes for his posts. Who are these people, do their carers know that they are using the internet without supervision?

Hear hear. Seriously, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea et al are all out there waiting for their support. Switching allegiance to a new club is free and there are no exams to pass or queues to join, you can be a confirmed lifetime fan of Liverpool and appear as 'Diss Koppite' or whatever on their messageboards at anytime. You could even expect thirty million or so to be blown on just one player anytime soon, hell, you might even find Madders is playing for 'your' club again before the start of next season, how about that? One simple little switch of allegiance and all your Norwich City supporting woes will be gone in an instant and you needn't worry about any of us, Delia or the clubs lack of ambition ever again. That's something else that puzzles me. When people relate the clubs perceived lack of ambition to the individual supporters as in the accusations of "...how can you not be ambitious for our club/show some ambition for the club" etc etc. I don't know but I am sure I am not alone here-but my ambitions, such as they are, relate to me and my life and aspects of it that I can control and influence, not that of a business that I have absolutely no influence on whatsoever: haven't had, don't have and never will have. We're supporters. We may think that gives us some entitlement but it doesn't. Yes, we put varying degrees of money into the club but that is entirely voluntary, no-one signed a contract that said in return for buying 'x' season tickets, the club will do ensure that they match your ambitions for it. The self sustaining model is set in granite. It isn't going to change anytime soon. No-one is going to come along and gift the club billions of pounds anytime soon either. And yes, we may go down in May. But the start of pre-season training will still see Webber and Farke here and still see the same people in charge in the boardroom. No-one has to like it. But, like it or not and despite all the arguments and angst, that is how it is going to remain.

I see we baby boomers are getting a good kicking. I thought we had been punished enough, having to grow up with rationing still in place, with dingy terraced houses with outside loos, and with Educating Archie and Life With The Lyons being regarded as cutting-edge comedy, but plainly not...🤧

I know we will never persuade you otherwise RTB. But this insistence on blaming someone or everyone other than the greedy monkeys who flourished under Thatcherism and who now control most things we do. For someone who merits hard workers, and so you should, I find it strange you laud those who make or destroy those wishing to work hard.

Yes, she was party to the creation of the me, me, me sensibility. By then the Boomers were in full swing and had used up many of the advantages they had been given (cheap housing rising in value, well paid jobs, free education etc) and started to sell off the family silver to pay for their lifestyles (tax cuts, asset sales, borrowing). Boomers worked hard, I will give you but they also were granted immense opportunity which allowed them to believe that everything they got they earned. Previous generations (and I think later ones) were far more collective.

In December 2017 Mr Farage announced he and his wife had separated, saying he' s "separated and "skint" He is however estimated to be worth around £2.5million. Mr Farage added nearly £400,000 to the company Thorn In The Side Ltd, of which he is the sole director. He pockets around £26,900 a month from the media company. This is on top of his MEP pre-tax salary of £7,858 a month, or £94,296 a year. And he is entitled to a pension of £73,000 a year once he retires. Don't you just love these people who pretend to be "skint". Lets have a Telethon called NIgel in Need.

Surely all City supporters would want to be a little more competitive in the top flight? But how much more? Do you mean so that we aren't relegated every year? That is fair enough but losing twice as many as you win every season doesn't sound too exciting to me. Yes you are seeing some of the "stars" of the game. Yes you get a substantial amount of money for belonging. But how much does it cost to run a football club in the EPL? Why aren't Burnley, Brighton, Bournemouth buying £50M players? And don't you only get 19 home games not 23. Would the cry begin for even greater investment if we finished 14th for five seasons in a row? I have to ask these questions as I do not crave what others do.

The wealthier, happier and more interesting world created by us boomers, I think you mean. From what I have seen of snowflakes is that they are timid, live in an echo chamber, self-regarding , inexperienced and intolerant of anything that they don't understand - which is most things. I would much rather be a boomer than a millennial.

There is an Irish expression for sitting on the sidelines making snidey comments, criticising management or ownership . It's called being " the hurler on the ditch" a reference basically to the mighty game of hurling , where everyone not playing is an expert about everything related to those who are playing managing or funding the very game that they are watching. The game itself is basically stick fighting that involves a ball too, and is not to be played by the faint hearted, its fast, skilful and often violent but very entertaining when played well . These guys often preface their insights with expressions such as " was talking to someone within the club", "a little bird told me" or " took a call the other day". They are a figure of much amusement and often scorn amongst the actual players.

Don't understand why he would need one. Until it is clear we are going down then or we get hammered each week and he v=becomes stubborn, then we are still in the EPL, which seems to be all that matters to many. What happened to the days when you just went to the football?

I also have an outbuilding FULL of Brexit Party leaflets and signs ready for next weeks launch. Nigel owes me over TEN GRAND. "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" - John Lydon

From the perspective of someone who wanted closer ties post Brexit the opportunity was lost by opposition MPs belligerently voting Mays deal down contributing to her inevitable departure. We could have been out by now with a PM at the helm who was not prepared to deliver a very hard line Brexit. The ERG were never going to get behind her but if more opposition MP’s had been prepared to compromise we would be out and heading for a softer exit than the one Boris will undoubtedly deliver. I’m not looking to allocate blame here, it’s just a statement of fact imo. Labour will now get the election JC craved but may well end up going backward in terms of seats.

Zimmerman is going to make a huge difference aerially, positionally and in terms of leadership ability. Anyone who thinks replacing Tettey at CB and having decent options in CM isn't going to make a big difference structurally throughout the team clearly hasn't been watching closely enough in the last few games.
  41. 1 point
Ha! Not suggesting that at all. More that to completely write the lad off, when we all know he's a good defender with a lot of heart, just because he hasn't played in the Prem (he has and against Prem opposition before we were in it) is stupid.

Webber is so confident of a great future he is leaving in 2.5 years max. Farke described winning the league last year as climbing Everest and staying up this year as climbing Everest without tools.... he has also twice mentioned that he would have loved to spend £10m / £15m but it's just not going to happen. Has he thrown in the towel like all those questioning our approach to top flight football? I am proud of what we as a team & owners have achieved but you have to invest to stay in the top flight, it has not and can not be done otherwise. It's whether you are happy with Top 25 or think we could be a very good established premiership team like Burnley. I think we may have missed a great opportunity to strengthen an already great team with a few quality signings (Webber surely would have spent wisely so the Nasmith argument is void) to help the talented youngsters we had and in particular, strengthen the weakest part of the side... the defence. I find it frustrating looking at Sheffield United & then see how we have lost momentum.

Zimmerman is a leader and an inspiration to others and we have been sadly lacking leadership and inspiration on the pitch.

Yes, several times in the past. I just dont really think now is one of them. Especially when the problem most seem to have is that they dont have enough money. I find it hard to disagree because in football terms our owners are incredibly poor. But theres so many richer owners in this country who dream for our relative success.

Sanity at last, wtf do people expect? Overnight success ? If this project is to succeed it will take time, and nerve , because there will be times that the ride gets rough, like now. By Time , I mean a few years, not a few weeks.

The club has shown far more ambition to be in the PL and the majority of their competitors. Webber said "Ignore the noise" I bet he didn't expect lies
  48. 1 point
To the op.... Webber has not said anything of the sort. Farke has not said anything of the sort. If you think they have then you are wrong. Either you didn't understand what they were saying, or you are just trying to make trouble and when people post fake stuff, you have to wonder about their motivation for posting. All a bit sad really.
  49. 1 point
At least no one at the club, owners, directors, management or team have thrown the towel in. Too many posters on here have not got the stomach for set backs.
