If it was a Remain HoC how come MPs never simply revoked Article 50, ricardo? The reality is that, no matter how they voted in the referendum, quite enough MPs became prepared (for a variety of reasons) to vote for Brexit. And if May had faced down the ERG right at the outset when it was nowhere near as strong as her cowardice ended up making it, and gone for a Brexit with a customs' union (only the ERG was fundamentally opposed to that) she would almost certainly have got that through. But because of her cowardice and incompetence MPs were faced first with her hard Brexit and then with Johnson's harder Brexit at a time by which the ERG was much more powerful, the DUP had to be kept onside, which was not the case before, and Tory party discipline had broken down. Hence the defeats. And even then if Johnson had accepted Labour's offer of giving his deal more scrutiny that still might have passed, especially if he had made some concessions on workers' rights, for example.

All labour seats. All with labour last winning approximately 55-65 per cent of their constituency’s votes. Massive majorities. Yet all equally strong pro-Brexit. In many of those areas, a large majority of the 60+ per cent who voted Labour would probably refuse outright to ever vote Tory. But apparently they must now go against their principles if they want to give Boris a “mandate” to leave the EU. That’s before we even get on to the thirty or so per cent of current Tory constituencies which had a remain majority. Bet they’re thrilled that they either have to vote in Labour or vote “for” Brexit. So remind me again why a GE is the right way to decide this single-issue brexit issue?

It only needs to work for Leave supporters who will now coalesce round one party while the rest fight over the Remain die hards. The idea that after 31st Oct Boris would crash and burn is one only Remainers obsessed over thanks to polls asking highly hypothetical questions.

FVCKWIT SWINDO has not got a clue KIO. Instead of one finger typing on here he should get back to using his right hand as a w'anking spanner. Tiss all he is good for.

He’s paying for the consequences of someone else’s actions, he wasn’t driving. Derby should have sacked all three or none. The fact that the non injured players were just fined and an injured player who was not criminally charged was sacked on face value looks purely like Derby choosing to save some cash. Unless there is something specific to him that isn’t currently in the public domain which explains his termination I’d suspect he has a very good case.

I'm on the fence. On the one hand, he put himself out of action for over a year (during which time Derby would've had to pay him a seven-figure sum) through his own stupidity and recklessness. There's no doubt a clause in his contract which allows it to be terminated if he gets a serious injury as a result of his own actions. On the other hand, would Derby have released him had he had been a younger player with some value in the transfer market? I'm guessing not. At the end of the day, finances come a long way before morals in football nowadays. Also, regardless of how silly he was by putting himself in that situation, he was an incredibly loyal servant to the club. And how 'responsible' was he for the injury? After all, he wasn't the one drink-driving, and we don't know how intoxicated he was during the incident. I can see both sides of the coin and I'm not sure who I support here.

While some of us had higher hopes before the start of the season, most people (quite rightly) expected us to be fighting for survival. We obviously set the bar pretty high by beating Man City so it is understandable to be disappointed by the run of games since - just 1 point from 5 matches is a poor return. However, we are not far away from where we would have expected to be and I'm sure we will turn things around. When reflecting on the first quarter of the season, keep in mind the following: We have played 7 out of the current top 10 in the league. While no Premier League game is easy, we have faced a disproportionate number of the better (and more in-form) teams. We will have easier runs of fixtures in which to make up points. We have faced a ridiculous injury crisis of unprecedented scale. It was always a gamble to largely stick with the promoted squad, but imagine if it was £100m worth of new signings lining the treatment room right now. Just 1 win could see us out of the relegation zone. We are involved in some very entertaining games. Last night was quite a spectacle, even though the performance was poor on the whole. I would much rather see that kind of drama than a tight and cagey 1-0 loss. Even if we do get relegated we will be in a great position. Obviously it would be a big loss, but we would be in great shape to tear up the Championship again. Last season was the best I can remember. I'd rather we had won a couple more games, but things are likely to improve over the coming weeks. Let's enjoy the roller-coaster ride that is supporting Norwich!

Not sure that I've seen anything recently to make me think we might get as many as 4 or 5 points in a 3 game run that includes 2 away games.

Well Julienne, if they had asked for donations to help fund an election campaign then fair enough. But as they asked for £100 for every potential candidate to stump up, up front, then not only not select a large majority of them but also fill up a lot of spaces with their cronies, then I think that it smells of corruption, and they have ripped of a lot of delusional but well meaning people. If you're happy with that then fair enough. But you're a bit of a rotten corpse anyway.

I sit in The City Stand nearer The Regency Stand than The Barclay and there is a misconception that fans are silent at that end of the ground. A stereotypical response if i may say Midlands.

Nice to have Jools back. He makes even Swindon's posts seem objective.

Nope - Unlikely to make any difference whatsoever in my constituency which is safe Tory, but I will be voting tactically based on whichever party has the best odds of beating them.

Swindon There are believed to be at least 6 million people in England of Irish descent. Why the hell are they living here? Work out the reason and ask why you give propaganda to the 900,000 Protestant supporting people who live in Northern Ireland. Corbyn wants a United Ireland. And so do I. You obviously would prefer to see the World under the English yoke. Scotland and Wales are fed up being administered from Westminster and are only being held onto by means of political and financial bribes and handouts.

Corbyn is a millstone and its a real shame for democracy in this country. We are crying out for a genuine electable opposition. I think people have seen quite clearly whose fault this has been, the wrecking has been played out before our eyes for the last three years, this will be a one issue election, dispite attempts to change the narrative.

It was his fault. How people can't see this is amazing.

*We* don’t know, but Farke and his team see him regularly in training. He just might be a revelation if we threw him into a Premier League game, but I am happy to trust our coaching team’s opinion.

I've zero sympathy for him but the hypocrisy from Derby certainly stinks. They're not sacking him because they are appalled by his actions, else they would be doing the same to Lawrence and Bennett (the correct thing to do in my opinion). They're sacking him because it will save them some cash. All parties have come across as pretty s(umbag like if you ask me.

What we do know is that there is at least £12 million left in the budget for January as that was how much the french lad that turned us down on deadline day went to Nice for.

I make you right. 1) It's one thing going into the prem with 3 of your back 4 being 21. 2)It's another thing when those 3 players haven't played at this level of football before. 3) It's yet another thing when those 3 players are having to deal with different Goalkeepers and a different CB because of injuries. 4) It's yet another another thing when those 3 young players are having to play without a recognised defensive midfielder in front of them. The caveat, of course, it's that we knew about the first two. And at the end of last season some of the posters who were 'happy to see our young players rewarded and given a chance' are now slating them for making mistakes. However it's quite clear the majority of fans are understanding of the situation and the players overall have been really well supported including in some really poor defensive games.

Because other teams will see the raw potential and believe they can polish these players. Ryan Sessengon didn't have a great first season in the top flight but still went to Spurs for over £20m. Godfrey and Aarons are both now in the u21 set up- if they play well there many scouts/managers might think 'they've got it but they aren't being helped by playing in a team like Norwich. Godfrey, for instance, is a calm, confident central defender with real ability on the ball who isn't afraid to step out of defence. He needs to work on his positioning and his reading of the game at times. But someone like Spurs might think he'd look better with higher quality players around him, covering for his weaknesses. Similarly they might look at Aarons and think his defensive flaws might be less of an issue for a team like Spurs where most teams aren't going to be pro-actively attacking them.

Well done Petriix 👍 You could also add the utterly priceless education that our young players are receiving as they play regularly at the highest level. Whatever now happens, they vastly improve as players and assets. The weekly level is well beyond anything in even single games at lower levels and little can prepare you for the dynamic intensity and scrutiny. We cannot compete financially, but we can compete by offering pathways and opportunities. Players ultimately want to play. For too long fine talent has been hoarded and hidden. We can be proud that we are in the vanguard of the movement away from that. Parma
