Looking at the latest city utube on todayā€™s training session, Todd Cantwell looks like Messi - hopefully he bottles some of it for Saturday!! Good to see Krul, Vrancic and Tettey all in full training. What with Pukki scoring two, I feel the wind changing !!!!

Ever since Webber came in he's been up front about policy and how the money has been spent. So have Ben Kensell and Zoe Ward. When Stuart Webber talked about previous regimes peeing the PL money up the wall he was specifically talking about the club having nothing to show for it. He took pains to point out that nothing was spent on infrastructure at Colney or indeed at Carrow Road. All three were in favour of the canaries bond seeing the Colney upgrade as too important to wait for and obviously in favour of the way the bond would be paid back. They've all three been honest about spending money on infrastructure in the summer, a far cry from McNally's mantra that every penny had to go to the player budget. (Something we all supported at the time). So we know that the strip of land the other side of Carrow Road was brought. We don't know how much for but that is obviously the first part of looking to spend more on the stadium. So I don't see this changing and certainly not suddenly funding a Naismith if we find ourselves in the bottom three in January. As for the rumour about the 15m player on deadline day, and yes it is an unsubstantiated rumour, but obviously if that deal fell through we couldn't then sign a couple of other players instead.

Yes, a great close up of the quality that Todd possesses, he really does shine in that vid. Bit of a concern seeing Jamal limp at the end, but great to see the numbers starting to return, I reckon we could see the likes of Onel and Mario amongst the subs for Saturday. Feeling very optimistic for our trip to Bournemouth now. Btw - that acute angled Marco Van Basten style volley from Emi was something to behold, he shouldā€™ve saved that one for the Vitality! But I feel his first Premier League goal is not far away now.

Interesting article from the archives of the Daily Mash. šŸ¤Ŗ Climate change sceptic is fine with all other science A DIEHARD global warming sceptic is happy to believe in all the other types of science, it has emerged. Retired accountant Norman Steele believes climate change is a lie, yet fully accepts other types of science such as physics, medicine and the various technologies that enable him to fly to Spain on holiday. Wife Emma said: ā€œIā€™ve never seen him trying to disprove chemistry or claim Einstein was just into relativity for the money. ā€œHe spends hours on the internet finding obscure studies that seem to contradict global warming, but heā€™s perfectly happy to watch our TV without incontrovertible evidence that it works from the scientists at Samsung. ā€œAnd when he went into hospital for an operation recently he didnā€™t accuse the doctors of being part of a conspiracy to make money out of ingrowing toenails.ā€ She added: ā€œNorman must really be interested in climate science though, because if you wasted your life studying temperature graphs just so you could moan about it on the internet, that would make you a total f*cking a*se.ā€ Apples

Old Snitchy is not telling the truth yet again. The EU did not come out in support of Spain. It let Spain deal with its own domestic problem as it is a sovereign state. The EU has not come out in support of Scottish independence because it won't interfere in the UK's domestic affairs.

more ill informed nonsense from van wink, as the EU did not come out in support of Spain (if only that Catalona is Spain) but instead took the line as " ā€œItā€™s an internal Spanish matter,ā€ Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte told reporters, a position echoed by French President Emmanuel Macron, who held a private meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy on the sidelines of the summit. " Scotland is a seperate country, Catalona is not. And what should be noted is that someone who has filled this forum with guff about the EU being too political and making laws that affect the soveeignty of countries (it doesn't) should be criticesed for ....... err, not doing that. As said, your bleat is nothing more than an ill informed attack on the EU. ps any answer to my point that you posted up a bizarre comment claiming that I no longer held that the UK would eave the EU via 'brexit - something you previously posted up under the log in Van Wink. Maybe all I am doing is trying to empathise with a young man who is trying to be the best football player he can be and who is also having to adapt to living with huge amounts of money and exposure to unsavoury types whose only agenda is to try and catch him out. He will undoubtedly learn how to deal with it, but those that condemn him just on the say so of others are quite probably well wide of the mark.

Some people still don't get it that along with supporters being the twelfth man, they can also be the opposite and have a negative effect on the team. Most supporters are great and I am sure Webber is right that the majority will keep singing from the same hymn sheet, but we see on here how quick some people are to turn. Supporters can have a positive effect or a negative effect at a match - it is up to each individual to choose how they will be. We are in an incredible period at the club - still getting to grips with the PL and having to do that in a difficult injury situation - but with a club set up that is as good as at any time in our history......just look at the quality around the place, not just in the first team but in the U23's and academy. This is the best time to be a Norwich supporter - if a few people are losing the plot because of two away defeats and a home loss that was made all the worse because of the injury situation, then they have very short memories. It is less than four weeks since one of the most memorable occasions ever at CR. We need gumption, not snowflakery.

sence and senceability by Jane Auctin (mine) a novel following the lives of three sisters... Miss Spellin. Miss Informed, Miss Judged and their Wiltshire cousin Miss Inlink. Their tranquil lives are disturbed one day by the appearnce of a distant relative, Johnny. Or 'foreign' Johnny as he becomes known. A family man with numerous offspring whose language is accepted by the sisters but not by their Wiltshire cousin who rails against him and his family even being in the same county. Further unrest follows as the Wiltshire cousin seeks to have the tenancy rules of the estate changed so Mr Grant (Johnny) and his wife Immi can be thrown off the estate. This leads to Mr Grant being accused of theft (stealing jobs) and partaking of heathen practices... namely eating food that has taste to it. After a long and protracted campaign of hate by the Wiltshire cousin, along with other local ne'er do wells the unrest has grown. However the passing of mandatory 1Q tests by a newly elected (more) Liberal government sees the cousin and many others deemed not fit for decent society and so they end their days in Marshalsea Prison, and Mr Grant's extended and hardworking family join him to not only fill the gaps left by those deemed intellectually dimished, but to increase the vibrancy and colour of society.

They've been talking about it for a while but I don't think there are any active plans. I get the impression though that if/when Bournemouth get relegated, which will probably happen at some point over the next 5/10 years, they'll probably do a Wigan and slide into obscurity as they aren't actually a very big club.
westcoastcanary wrote the following post at 27/08/2018 10:04 AM: @Big O Good post. A style of play that Norwich fans can buy into? There''s a prior question: do Norwich fans want a style of play that is modern and effective at the highest levels? A few years ago this exact question was being asked about England, as a succession of exceptionally well-qualified foreign coaches tried to drag our national team into the modern football world. Since then there has been a revolution in English coaching, and we have a modern-thinking English manager developing a young side with greater (EPL-based) familiarity with formerly "alien" methods and tactics. What we are now seeing at Norwich mirrors that process. At least the club have seen the light. And yet all the evidence on the pitch and looking at the league table suggests the complete opposite. We look likely to be languishing in lower mid table this season or even worse a relegation battle but itā€™s ok, at least we done it trying to play ā€˜modernā€™ football, all be it completely ineffectively
"All the evidence on the pitch and looking at the league table suggests the complete opposite". Not true; there is evidence of progress for those prepared to look for it. Just one example: last season our finishing was poor and our conversion rate (goals scored/xG) hovered consistently around just 80%. This season it is currently 100%. As for the league table, do you honestly take league position seriously after 5 games? Last season, after 5 games, Ipswich were 2nd, we were 22nd and Brentford 23rd. Fulham meanwhile were 14th and Villa 18th. Truth of the matter is that there is a sizeable group of posters on here who actually want the club to fail, to see Webber and Farke replaced, and the owners out. Every chance to be negative is seized on, and anything positive pooh-poohed or ignored. If it wasn''t for my being a lifelong City supporter (longer in the tooth than most on here), I''d really wish on them the club I think they deserve.

Dear me, I think you need some deep breaths my man. Where to start... I honestly thought the whole newspaper interview thing had been put to bed long ago; they have since clarified their position after all. As for treating it like a ā€œfamily heirloomā€, well, itā€™s a decent comparison because NCFC IS precious. Itā€™s precious to them and it is to us. Therefore, with nobody appearing on the horizon to buy Delia and Michaels shares and given their age, theyā€™ve looked to put a succession plan in place for the time that they cannot it donā€™t want to carry on. Who they decide to pass their shares on to is entirely up to them. just as Iā€™m sure you wonā€™t leave your house and worldly goods to an angry pack on an Internet forum, Iā€™m sure they considered their options and have - at this juncture - elected to pass them to a family member and someone that they trust implicitly. Who would you like them to pass them on to? As for FFP.... Iā€™ve no idea why they allow the 13mpa averaged over three seasons. Iā€™d hazard a guess itā€™s to protect clubs relegated with players on big contracts to allow them to get their house in order as opposed to being a licence for owners to sling as much money as possible at promotion and to Hell with the consequences. Essentially itā€™s a licence to cheat because once promoted the penalties arenā€™t due until relegated. As for Watford, Palace blah blah blah, well, this list was another set of clubs a couple of years ago and it will be a different set in a couple more, because (this may come as a bit of a shock) three clubs get relegated every year from the Prem. Nobody is established barring the big 7. While weā€™re on that paragraph though, did you have the time of your life when we were in the Premier League? Lastly, at no point have I suggested that it is easier with our owners and in our financial position. What surely canā€™t be argued with is the fact that given our recent forays into the Premier League, having done it ā€œproperlyā€ mud represent an incredible achievement and one that must be the envy of lots of clubs that have the investment you covet. You know, like Ipswich. Or Derby. Or Forest. Or Sheff Wed. Or Leeds. Just thought Iā€™d show that I can list clubs too. šŸ‘
