Absolutely this. And those that have picked and chosen their ten away days are doing the same again. It has always been like this but now there are more people fighting for the tickets they actually want. If you’re one of those people that have always had uninhibited dibs, it’s a bad thing. If you’re not, it’s positive. 🤷‍♂️ The whole ‘loyalty’ thing has always been BS shouted loudest by those that have gotten to pick and choose their away games in an uncontested manner. I was one of them. Loyalty is NOT 12 months. It is not one season. It is not 40 seasons. It’s doing the very best you can to support the club you love, irrespective of where you live, how many tickets you buy, how much merchandise you can afford. If if you think differently, fair enough. That’s your right. You might think you’re a better fan, a more loyal fan; you might think that you put Delia to shame. Truth is, you’re just another Norwich fan. Do you think that a Bury fan that went to 15 games last season is hurting more than one that went to 3? How about a fan that had never been to an away game? Or how about that kid that got his first replica kit last week and will never see a game? Grow up.

I'm an exile who can't get to away games anyway, so I'm completely unbiased here, but I think the complaints of Kick It Off and King Canary are completely justified. It's not fair that fans who went to several away games last year are being pushed to the back of the queue by fans who only now want to go to away games because we're playing 'big teams'. Other businesses reward loyalty, and pretty much all football clubs distribute away tickets amongst those who have attended the most games when supply is limited, such as cup finals. This also helps sell out allocations for less popular games because fans know they need to attend in order to get first dibs on the tickets for big games. These fans earn the right to get tickets to the big games when demand is larger than the supply. How would season ticket holders feel if the concept of a season ticket was scrapped, all tickets were immediately general sale (provided you pay £50 at the start of the season) and people who haven't attended a game in years are now getting tickets ahead of them? I think they'd be pretty pissed off.

The way I see it is that people who couldn't be arsed to go to places like QPR, West Brom or Reading suddenly want to go now it is glamorous locations like Old Trafford, The London Stadium and Anfield. We see it every time we're in the Premier League. People who've not bothered to set foot inside Carrow Road or follow the team away suddenly begging for tickets when Man U or Arsenal come to town. Each to their own but I don't like the club actively embracing that to make more money at the expense of those who could be bothered.

And who on this thread suggested that Hanley should be selected ahead of Godfrey? No-one, you are making up stuff now. The fact that Godfrey was picked to play last season demonstrates the ability of Farke and his team to 1) recognise potential talent and 2) to nurture it. And if they believe Hanley is our best option at CB then that’s enough, move on, find something else to worry about. And the amount of hindsight on this thread is, well, actually it’s unsurprising given previous nonsense we regularly see on here. We started the season with four CBs, four and a half if you count Amadou. Everyone from what I can see rates Godfrey as a future £30m+ player. Timm has been there and done it in the PL, and could have kept us up if it wasn’t for his injury in the past. Zimmerman is a rock, had a fantastic season last time, and was singled out by Wenger when we played Arsenal. There weren’t many (any?) posters on here saying he wouldn’t be up to the PL. And for a fourth choice - fourth choice - CB we have Hanley, who has played in the PL, was probably out best CB at the start of last season and was one of the most expensive players in our squad last year. And as I said, we have Amadou. But we should have rushed out and spent a huge chunk of our available transfer fund on someone better? Seriously? But suddenly all the know it alls are out saying we should have bought a better defender than Timm. Like I say, pure hindsight.

Yep, fair point - the other thing it has done though is removed the tiering of anyone not in the 750. Those who went to 9 away games treated the same as those who have never been to a city game. That’s where it falls down for me. They should have put in a prior purchase history clause in to the prem membership scheme to stop Liverpool fans etc from piling on. My opinion is old system was fine and the only thing that needed to change was balancing home season ticket points with away membership points.

Depends, they will grade it a 1, 2 or 3. 1 is where the ligament is mildly stretched but still supports the joint and should recover in a month or two. Grade 2 would be a partial tear and may require minor surgery and 3 is a complete tear. I am not an orthopaedic specialist but that is my basic understanding of these types of injuries. Lets hope for either a severely bruised knee or a grade 1 sprain if it is the ACL.

This weekend's game at West Ham would have been ChelleCity's 1000th consecutive City game had she not been so cruelly taken from us. She loved Lisbon and often plumped for Sporting when picking here. They rarely let her down. So, theres really only one game i can offer you... Sporting v Rio Ave - Home Win For the match bet, City to win and BTTS. Best of luck Hansterbubble, DJ11 and all you PUPs

Well surprise surprise...some away games are more popular than others..just as its always been. and its for exactly that reason as to why those games should be sold on a staggered priority, points based system

100% agree - Like I said earlier, I think a good mitigation here would to have capped the number of games priority access applied to for those who did 10 games last season but didn't have an away season ticket. Away season ticket holders, to be fair probably should have first choice on all away games - I have never been one, but I don't think away season tickets should have been scrapped. If you're willing to commit to every game then you absolutely should have access to every game. That reward should have been tiered for those like me though, who attended lots but not every single one. Capping the priority games for non-away season ticket holders would have rewarded those who followed us a lot last season without skewing the availability for others. I hope that the other 749 are well intentioned people, as it would be very easy to exploit the access to tickets for the big games, for profit. I won't do that as it's the wrong thing to do, but more cynical people might. To your point about exiles having access though, I messaged Kiwiscot earlier as it happens as I'm aware he lives too far away to be able to make a Premium membership worthwhile and said I would help make sure he could get to at least one game this season.

I went to Hull on a Tuesday night in November in swirling wind and driving rain, to watch a 0-0. I made a 300 mile round trip to Bristol, and 200+ mile round trips to places like Wigan, and Bolton. I also made a 400 mile round trip to be there for the parade and several home games during the season. I don't consider myself to be "better" or more of a supporter than anyone else, I know not everyone is able to do that, but I do think that kind of effort deserves to be rewarded and I don't feel at all bad about having priority access. This membership scheme isn't about making it fair for those that can't afford to go regularly etc, in fact it has quite the opposite effect as all it does is put another financial barrier in for those people. Given the system in place, I actually think the fairest way to have done this would be to cap priority access to 5 or 6 games. That way those fans that put the miles in last season would be rewarded, but those who have premium membership would have a better chance of tickets. That's not to say that is the fairest way of all, but within the constraints of the system that is in palce, I think that kind of mitigation would have helped.

Yes, the stats back it up! I will defend Hanley as I don't think we should be too quick to jump on one player and single them out, ever. But Zimbo, although not particualrly blessed with pace, is really Farke's man. His positional sense seems to be way better than GH and he has also got the physicality to compete at this level. There is a question mark over him when he's up against forwards with lots of pace, but he has often found answers. He plays the game in a far more intelligent way than GH.

It's not just about the defensive work, more importantly it's about comfort on the ball. Last season there was only one player who averaged more passes per game than Zimmerman and that was Godfrey! (51.8 and 51.6 PPG), Hanley only attempted 35, at a far worse success rate as well (74% to 83%). This really impacts the way we play and means that we invite pressure back on to us as we end up lumping it forwards where we don't have the physicality to compete effectively for the first and second balls...

Great posts from Alex and KIO. And brilliant to see how KIO is helping out Kiwi. I don't know how the system could be worked but it seems fair to me that if a fan did 8 games last season then that loyalty would entitle them to 8 games this season. Then the fan who did two games last season may get to two games this season. I can't see anything fair about someone who did 8 games last season getting double that this season.

Cracking theatre pub just through the old Stratford shopping centre. Then roof east on top of the shopping centre, currently has batting cages and other bits up there. But hands down I would go to Hackney Wick. Hackney Wick, one stop on the overground from Stratford and on the edge of the Olympic park, has amazing pubs. Crate brewery and pizzeria is always busy, over looking the canal. Howling hops is London only tank bar, tanks that go up to the ceiling. There about 5 or 6 cool pubs there, much better than the big chain Westfield. 4 quarters and a row of about 3 bars including the breakfast club, overlook the canal on the other side in the Olympic park. 4 quarters is full of old arcade games. It helps that I sell beer and cider within London 😉

There’s a lot of selfishness, greed, and ‘me, me, me’ on this thread. Personally, I’d ban the glory hunters, whom are only interested in City when playing in the top flight, from acquiring a ticket - how I don’t know, but in an ideal world. And I’d make it a priority and first dibs for say that exile guy or girl who lives down in Truro to be able to get a ticket to Bournemouth away to see the team they love. Everyone’s circumstances are different - share and share alike, no one should be excluded from being able to see the team they love at least once a season just because others think they deserve every ticket going.

Can we spend a few million of the transfer fees saved in the window on the best care and protection for Pukki during the international break? Im thinking armed guard detail 24/7, cryo baths, the best physios, maybe some embryos to give him a burst of youth. Because with him out of the team we look totally without threat.

When I first saw him against liverpool I was watching it with my stepdad who puts the tv on so low you can’t hear owt. I just thought it was some elegant foreign player that you had. Once I got his name i just felt inclined to post on here about him. I like watching young players come from nowhere. Same thing when I saw Maddison for Leicester in his first game I thought wow he’s a serious talent. Think the under 21’s would be a good a start for him. He might get invited to train with the full squad like Tom davies did and mason mount.

And the season before, the season before that and the season before that. This is a genuine question - why do you feel people that haven’t been to away games in the last 4 seasons or so should now have the same chance to get tickets as those that went regular ? I don’t get it as surely it should therefore become a free for all and also those who attended 10 games should be made to fight for their tickets ( I don’t think they should by the way ). The club have upset, unnecessarily in my opinion, around 2000 people to keep happy people who only want to make the effort now we are in the premier league. The support we gave the club is being treated as irrelevant until they need it back again, then we will be bombarded again with emails stating ‘ we are all in this together ‘ something that currently seems to have disappeared. i beleive when these meetings happen you will finally see how a large number of supporters feel about this.

Those that you refer to as everybody else haven’t come forward for Crawley or Burnley and should we get relegated don’t suppose they will be remotely interested in going to Rotherham or Middlesbrough on a cold Saturday night. It does not seem to coincidental to me that for Crawley and Burnley the same numbers have bought as last year ( the last couple of games excluded ). Had the system from last year have remained can’t think anyone would have complained as nobody complained when they couldn’t get Villa tickets. I don’t think we are an elite group but I do feel that the club will act like nothing has happened when they need our following back and our new found away fans have long disappeared.

He's come on an incredible amount from the end of last season for me, to be fair Nutty, and to admit that is not to criticise him for where he was at previously. I was not someone who faulted him for 'not being Buendia' during that 3 game suspension period, nor was I someone who criticised his ability in general. All grumblings from our fans were totally unwarranted, and he showed plenty in the last season for me to know that he would come good eventually. However, I never envisaged him coming this good this quickly, his transformation has been exceptional. I'd go as far to say that I have never known any player to improve so dramatically in off-season, he looks stronger, more aggressive, quicker in thought and on top of that; he is offering much more of a direct goal-threat with chances created, assists and goals. I don't know what Farke fed him over summer, but I imagine its akin to popeye after much spinach.

Because that is what season ticket holders are. But I fear we're getting into one of those things where we're talking at crossed purposes. Your issue seems to be the people with 10+ games last season being put into the same group as away season ticket holders. I can see your point on that one. My issue is with lumping those who go to 6 or 7 away games in with those who've gone to none.

He's just so bloody huge. Hanley must be of a similar size, but Zimbo seems to be able to act like a 6 foot wide brick wall that the opposition has to run around. As you say, I think this is down to his positional & footballing intelligence.

Hi PUPs, after being let down by picks from the east over the last couple of weeks I'm heading to the Med and Greece with PAOK vs. Panionios (home win). Nutty, I'm off on holiday at the end of next week so will leave my future selections with next week's pick. 👍 For the City game I'll go for a 2-2 draw with Leitner to score anytime. Best of luck everyone! 👍 Apples

Quite a common word these days in that context. Surprised you seem not to have come across it before: Merriam-Webster:- "Fructify derives from Middle English "fructifien" and ultimately from the Latin noun fructus, meaning "fruit." When the word was first used in English in the 14th century, it literally referred to the actions of plants that bore fruit; later it was used transitively to refer to the action of making something fruitful, such as soil. The word also expanded to encompass a figurative sense of "fruit," and it is now more frequently used to refer to the giving forth of something in profit from something else (such as dividends from an investment). "Fructus" also gave us the name of the sugar "fructose," as well as "usufruct," which refers to the legal right to enjoy the fruits or profits of something that belongs to someone else." IE: Bear fruit. Now with regards Adam Idah who now seems to be the shining light in what has become a conveyor belt of excellent youth products in recent seasons and shows encouraging signs of continuing to roll. I sense his performance against Crawley has, although not a bad one, been considered as being a slight disappointment. I prefer to think that it should best be seen as part of that necessary learning curve and my hopes for the player's future in the yellow remain high. Another juicy prospect then? A peach rather than a lemon? Will he become the (Adam's) apple of Farke's eye or just another windfall? Without the finances to cherry pick the best of the crop we need a constant supply of young talent to replenish our stall with talent. Whilst the binners continue to grow sour grapes we will carry on harvesting our own bambinos (Italian grapes) that will eventually mature into fine wine. 😋

How on earth have I disrespected his achievements? That simply isn't true. I'm merely supporting Hanley and recognising that in terms of ability there is no where near the gulf some are making out. Zimm is a good player and a fans favourite, no doubt about it. But if you think we'd currently be sat in a better position in the EPL had Zimm been fit and played instead of Hanley, then I'd accuse you of being a fantasist. There is no way Zimm would have been streets ahead of Hanley in terms of dealing with the likes of Salah and Abraham. Your championing a player with no experience at this level, and one who has demonstrated weakness at the level below, whilst scapegoating a player who has helped gain 3 EPL points. Our defensive issues are caused by our collective approach, and not an individual centre half. Playing either Zimm or Hanley will make little difference to the outcome of a result over 90 minutes.

I think it's clear that for most games against teams outside London and the top 6 the demand wont be so high. Perhaps anything that ends up being an important game will be difficult.

Bury's (and Bolton's) plight isn't just living beyond their means - it's having people in charge who either don't know or don't care what they are doing. At least our owners care - they have made many mistakes, but not because they are asset-stripping or trying to make money, just because they're human. If we can survive even for another season in the PL on our model it will be a miracle; but at least if we do go down we still have a club, and it will still be in a reasonably healthy position.
