It's a **** version of Big Brother, full of no mark tosspots trying to be famous by being tosspots. Epitome of everything wrong with society today. None of them are coming over well because they're all self-obsessed ****wits. The only way any of us win is if Kim Jong-Un nukes the entire island.

Really ? This is far worse than the raging perverts thread !

With most discussions, there will be at least two opposite sides, with opinions ranging from the far side of one to the far side of the other. I don’t know why people can’t just discuss things respectfully, rather than resorting to insults and snide remarks.

Yes let’s hope so, he’s 25 now I think, injured last season, if he is going to become what presumably we had hoped for he needs a really good effective season under his belt.

I suspect there are a fair few keyboards getting dusted off in the expectation, or should I say hope, that Liverpool put a few past us...

Good stuff as always BR, this time last year I think most people were hoping for a push towards the top six. After a wonderful season, with fabulous football and a trophy at the end of it. I'm wondering how long it will be before someone starts slagging off our players after a defeat. There were times, last season when people were getting stuck into Krul, Cantwell and McLean and we were winning. Heaven knows what to expect if results don't go our way next season.

I disagree with the criticisms above. Interviews come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes from the ruthless interrogations (Paxman) to the cosy chats (Soccer Am). There are pros and cons to whichever way you do it but, having watched pretty much every interview going with SW I would say that you're being churlish if you think nothing new emerged from this. Perhaps a few people are guilty of being sneery because they resent seeing other passionate supporters enjoying this opportunity?

What a bloke, we are so unbelievably lucky to have him at the helm of our club. So refreshing to have someone so honest, not interested in playing politics or saying the right thing all the time.

Why does anyone watch reality rubbish like this and the other reality tv programmes?

Again ric, your argument is based on building now, nobody else is demanding a time line, merely that it should be considered and remain under consideration. The 'banks of empty seats ' line is laughable, if we add another 4-6 thousand seats, there is potential to encourage more Season Ticket Holders, more regular fans and the likelihood to attract new fans as well as some who'd given up trying. I know that you live close to the ground, ride there on your bike and probably have a season ticket, I, on the other hand, fly half way around the World, drive up from London and hope that there'll be a few tickets available when I get there and I'm not the only one. The argument put forward by long term Season Ticket Holders that we don't need expansion is a selfish one and points to an 'I'm alright Jack' mentality.

If he was injured, and that was the original reason for him coming out of the starting XI - I'd be a little bit more concerned than just a dip in form. But either way, in webber and Farke I trust. I can't see us getting Fahrmann, but I think that's the negative side of my brain.

Very interesting debate that goes on and on! Like I've said before, Norwich City's home ground is in the perfect place cause it can be made bigger, near the train station and walking distance from the City centre. All this is much better than a soulless ground on a retail Park on the A47 which would be logistically more difficult to get to and exit! The crowd figures of the last 16 years (including averaging just under 25,000 in the 3rd Division) firmly indicate that Carrow Road could justifiably be made bigger when the clubs had a couple of consecutive seasons in the top flight, that's not pie in the sky, good old black and white fact! Norwich have got the proven attendance figures to justify increasing capacity despite what some say and that's not taking into account the "build it and they will come" factor where new supporters seemingly come out of nowhere! Adding 5000-10,000 extra spaces to Carrow Road would be mega expensive, hence why it hasn't done yet although since the early 00's the ground has gone from 21,000 to the current 27,000. There's no doubt financing a Carrow Road expansion would be difficult and would have to be carefully thought out but for the club to progress, fulfill its potential and not be left behind by smaller and similar sized clubs who have invested in bigger grounds it needs to done at some point. It's laughable those who think Norwich don't need to do it when you look at the average crowds and how clubs with smaller fanbases (EG Cardiff, Southampton, and Brighton have bigger grounds than us so get bigger crowds in the top flight) do it and benefit. To many Norwich fans are blinkered by the "little ole Norwich" bulls*it urban myth and are quick to ignore facts and figures, particularly clubs with smaller fanbases with bigger grounds. I'm amused how many Norwich fans make out its impossible we'd get regular 30,000 crowds in the top flight yet Cardiff last season, a club with a smaller fanbase than us averaged 31,000! - Cardiff in the Championship will get smaller crowds than us. Southampton and Leicester also normally get smaller crowds than Norwich outside the Premiership! Go back 20 years, when we were getting 16-18,000 crowds when Carrow Road held just under 22,000, I'm sure many of those "Norwich don't need a bigger ground brigade" would of said the same thing about building a bigger South stand! Likewise I predict 25 40 years into the future after Carrow Road has been potentially increased to 32-35,000 and the Board of the time are looking to push the capacity closer to the 40,000 mark, many Norwich fans will start going on about how unrealistic it is even thinking about it!

If it was happening anytime soon I doubt we would have sold all those season tickets since December.

It was a bit of a clumsy edit but for what it is that was fine. An enjoyable hours’ watch and whilst not incisive journalistic content it was just a nice chat. Fine by me.

May of been what they sold up front, but I'm pretty sure those on here involved in the community foundation that attended said the room was packed out

For the time being its probably wise to avoid our defenders 😂. Maybe aarons or Lewis on the bench in case they start racking up the assists. Buendia seems like the true steal here, and should be an easy lock for those of us who know of his potential

If three seasons ago you had said that Sunderland would be battling ipswich for promotion, I would have laughed at the fact someone thought ipswich would be heading to the prem. How times change, and I'm loving every minute of it

I think there's been enough said over the last 11 pages to appreciate there's more than just glory hunters to facilitate. Over the last 10 years our support has proved it needs a bigger stadium. If during the times when this is not the case we have empty seats making for lower prices or more accessible pricing for concessions I'm all for it. The club will need to be sensible and I can't see many reasons for an expansion right now but give it a couple of seasons of premier League football and it's something I'd fully expect this board to be looking at

If someone had suggested expanding the stadium to 27,000 in the nineties most would laughed. Norwich in the top 3 and pulling in 12,000 for a Wimbledon underlines the need now. Definitely time to match up the main stand with south stand sooner rather than later .

Interesting that lots of people saying they see us in for a number 10 to challenge Stiepermann and that may well be right but am I the only one who thinks long term that might be Buendia's best role for us. Most of the things he makes happen tend to be when he drops more centrally. I know that to a degree he creates that space by coming in off the flank but long term I've always seen a potential role for him playing more centrally with two quicker wingers out wide.
  23. 1 point
Yes he did and David Coleman with his usual lack of self-awareness described him later on Match of the Day as a 'whole-hearted' player!

I'll be joining the 10,000 applying for the 1200 seats available on July 22nd. Only trouble being I will be looking for 3 seats together ! Wish me luck.

Webber mentioned the club's potential again in the TNC interview nutty. I trust that when he announces expansion plans you'll be the first to lecture him on the error of his ways- as the omnipotent nutty nigel already knows it will just be banks of empty seats, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Didn't say it wasn't normal, but you're not taking into account their history.

He's an old school type of defender. I cant see him ever having any future at Norwich. IMO the best we can hope for is for him to have a good season and try make some money on him.

Hard to put a figure on their value right now. If we go straight back down and they don’t have great seasons, they’ll probably still be worth c.£15-£20mil next summer. If we stay up and/or they have good seasons, they could be worth £35million plus. In this window, you’d think we would hold out for the top figure but unlikely teams would be willing to pay that much for players without Prem experience - so it’s hard to put a value on them really. All irrelevant though as I’m sure they’ll all stay with us and be the spine of our Champions league squad in 2025....

There is something about posters with "Big" in their name that means they suddenly get cut off from internet access for, well, sometimes months, or even whole seasons. I am a cyber-idiot so i have no idea what the technical explanation is. Is it some malware thing that objects to that combination of letters? Whatever, it must be very frustrating for these poor posters, especially if it coincides with periods when the club is doing well.

Don't need to apologise. I get that those boys can be polarising, but I tip my hat to them because at least they're getting out there and doing something! They clearly love it and, sort of, almost seem as though they can't believe they're being given this type of access to the football club they love. Good on them.

Meh. Was excited when I saw this was coming but felt it just repeated a lot of things he’d already said in other interviews. Also felt there was a huge lack of scrutiny from the interviewers. Chris is particularly bad as he is so sycophantic. There was a bit of an elephant in the room when talking about bringing in the legends and how important that is - when one of Webber’s first actions was to sack Huckerby. I’m not saying sacking him was the wrong thing to do, but it was an obvious question to ask at that point. Also felt it was too backwards looking, almost no talk of what Norwich’s plans are for the next few seasons and no real scrutiny of Norwich’s approach to transfers this summer. Even if Jack and Chris agree with Webber, they should at least probe a bit more. This is the difference between Webber etc going on fan podcasts rather than being interviewed by journalists. It is an easy ride for them.

Or a club with that embargo might not be the first choice of many proven managers - so why no bring in a 'nightwatchman' (cricket term) instead ? If Lampard does not succeed well they haven't 'burnt' another manager, and he may well accept a shorter contract to secure the job. So that could be put down to 'he tried but embargo ultimately done for him etc' .... sort of thing. He succeeds, up his contract, pats on the back and trebles all round
