Yep 28 year old league 2 target men are definitely what we need.

Disappointed that we didn't take a punt on this guy. Prolific scorer albeit at a significantly lower level and would have fitted in to the current recruitment strategy. I work with a couple of Tranmere ST's and they are gutted he's gone somewhere as lowly as Ipswich!!!

Was at the West Brom away game - he was the best player on the pitch that day. Very good touch and excellent hold up play. He'd offer something different from what we have, so it would be a yes from me if the terms were right.

Can we move on to women's beach volleyball now please?

Which as you say is very little, which means your knowledge is very little. Which your comments demonstrate time and time again. Inverse to this, I have watched/written a lot about women’s football, so by your own measure I must know a lot more about it than you. Or are you claiming that despite not actually having much knowledge you are in a great position to comment on it? You have an agenda and you seem to be trying to push reality to fit that - when it clearly doesn’t. Women’s football is gaining in popularity, especially televised women’s football. The 6.1m people who watched the England game on Sunday is hard evidence of that. That is a larger TV audience than every televised Norwich game last season combined. Those people obviously wanted to watch the match, despite your derogatory comments about the quality. The professionals that play football will, by and large, say they don’t want it compared with men’s football as they know there are differences between the two and women’s football should be enjoyed in its own right. It sounds like it isn’t for you, fair enough, but your insistence that no one actually likes it and it is all some conspiracy that it is even allowed to happen is weird. I think you should stop worrying about feminism, it isn’t going to impact on your life. Greater gender equality/equity is actually likely to improve everyone’s quality of life through a stronger economy.

He looked decent in the playoff games, but he's pretty short and lacking Holt's physicality. For us, I'd prefer Jack Marriott. Still only 24 and looked great for Derby when they put him on the pitch.

Let Palace have Max Arrons for what ever that are prepared to pay. Never heard of him myself. Max Aarons on the other hand: they can bloody well sod off.

He kept offering the option but the defenders opted to hoof instead every time and his other midfielders just hit it into the channel for Frazer when they picked up second balls. Bet he'll be glad to be back here and playing proper football again.

Statistically Pukki has now failed to score more than 50% of his teams goals over the past 24 hours. Not sure that is a striker we need to lead our PL campaign.

Finland have just gone 1-0 up. I don't need to elaborate any further.

Back of shorts replacing Shred Station maybe? OR on the arm et al Everton's "Angry Birds"? ...they missed a trick with not giving us the Angry Birds deal. Welcome to modern toss soccerball!

I reckon they’ll claim the South Stand again.

Anyone who thinks Norwich to Palace isn't a step forward is wearing yellow and green tinted glasses, methinks. I don't think Palace are a big enough club to make one of our players force a move, luckily, but given the choice, I'm sure nearly all players would choose Palace over us right now.
  17. 1 point
All good reasons not to sell them your best players. It makes no sense to sell players to clubs you will realistically be in competition with.

I don't think anyone could deny the pretty big jump in standards in Women's football compared to what it was a few years ago, even. Part of the problem, for me, is this desperation to try and 'equal' it to the Men's game. That comes from both the public and the media but as always the media can sway opinion - and I don't think it's doing the right job of promoting the game at the moment. It should be seen as something separate from Men's football and then I think it can become better. I like what Emma Hayes had to say: "There is often a criticism about goalkeeping in the women's game, I would argue that the goal is just a little bit too big, if it was built around our physical differences then we would be talking about great goalkeepers as opposed to exposing them. "Rather than mirror everything we take from the men's game, we have to adapt it to our own sport and our own physical expectations as well as the tactical implications. "It's the mind-set that has to change, and once it starts to change, there is a realisation that the sport has its own differences because, more often than not, everyone coming into our game is coming from the men's game or other sports."

Exactly. If they sell Wan Bissaka for £60m they've essentially set the market for fullbacks and we'd be well within our rights to ask for over £30m for him.

I think we can quite easily pitch to him that even if we go back down he'll still be able to get a move to a Palace level team next season. It would be different if a Spurs or Chelsea type team came in for him but I don't see that happening this season.

Hope was a very good footballer and she's also pretty fit. Is that the right answer?

Nowhere near good enough for us. Unfortunately may be a decent signing for the sc*m at the level they now ply their trade though. Lambo clearly looking to unearth another Holt and he does have a touch of the Holty about him from what I've seen of him.
  24. 1 point
Yes that was my thought. If they offer something crazy like that then I can see it happening. However I don't see them doing that and I don't think Aarons will be in a hurry to push through a move like that.

He's from Burnley so he's probably used to it. Apparently he has a relatively low release clause, so if he's going on the cheap I expect quite a few Premier League clubs to be interested so I doubt we'd be able to compete unfortunately.

Never know... Might be fed up with the Midlands. And why wouldn't one be? It is a sh!thole after all 😉

Like the look of that....ticks many a box Competition/cover for the main striker, but can also play just off the striker or wide left of a front 3......can also take a penalty!!

Yes they have. I can only assume you are sending this from hiding as you dodge the police looking to arrest you for not watching New Zealand v Netherlands right now, you brave freedom fighter you.

Crikey, if we’re going to be relying on taking wild punts on guys in their late 20s - and who have never played above L2 - to see us to PL safety, that would be rather scary. He may come off and be the ‘next Holt’, but I’m somewhat doubtful.

We're a Premiership Club or hadn't you noticed? Possibly the most ridiculous post I've read in ages.

I always remember him because a bloke sat near me thought Marc Tierney was Michael Rose for quite a while. Both bald and played left back...

I wonder if the lack of playing time for Cody is what sent Paul Moy off the deep end into the man we see on the EU thread?
  33. 1 point
Yes he is a BIG Leeds fan and it seems weird that he said what he did! However, he's right! Leeds fans and owners would expect to be in the Prem, challenging for Europe and spending lots of money in the process. Thing is, as we all know, they're literally NEVER going to get out of the Championship. Ultimate choke artists! Ha!

One final try at explaining this, although I doubt any chance of success. You're at work. There is an email thread talking about a female colleague you think is attractive, highlighting some excellent work she's done recently. Do you... a) Respond, praising her for her ability at her job or b) Post a photo of her in a bikini she put on facebook and comment about how you'll look forward to working with her more if she keeps looking like that! Then if anyone says that isn't appropriate call them PC and she posted this photo anyway so why would she object? I wonder....

It's true, isn't it - people - male or female - who pose for photos that are for public comsumption can have no complaints when those photos are shown on a public forum. So why should anyone be complaining about it on here? It's just mock outrage and misplaced political correctness. It's a serious subject, but as with many "isms" the feminist agenda has been hijacked by extreme activists who are so removed from common sense and any kind of mid-ground, that they start to look overbearing and out of touch and they often do a dis-service to their own cause. Now some - maybe many - men, scared of offending females, have been taken in by it. No-one wants women exploited for their gender or be subject to inequality of any kind - but there is a difference between men and women and that should be celebrated, not censored, squashed or somehow make people feel guilty for something that is as natural as seeing beauty in things - even if there is a sexual element to it. We are allowed to be attracted to the opposite **** still, aren't we?

This is some grade A missing of the point. Nobody is saying its disrespectful to find a woman attractive. However it isn't respectful to bring it into a totally unrelated conversation about the world cup. Again, it really isn't that tough to understand.

I wasn't actually drawing any conclusions about expansion but merely stating the facts. I agree that we need to do it for the sake of the next generation but I can't see how we can make it happen unless I win Euromillions. If I do I'll gladly hand it over. I am strongly against huge borrowing. Just look what happened down the road. The one thing that would help a little is safe standing but in the current political climate that's unlikely to happen for years. We are fortunate at the moment to have people running the club who can be trusted to look to the future. They know they can sell 40,000 tickets for half the games in the Premier League but how long will we be there? It looked like Stoke had become an established Premier League club but all of a sudden they are now a very ordinary Championship club.

The person who leaked those naked photos of Hope Solo was a disgrace having spent the past 15 minutes viewing them I have to say I can’t see the public interest in exposing them and should never have happened
