Derby to make life easier for us next season. But Villa for gracious comments from their fans when we won the league and for their all round decency on the last day of the season. Aren't Leeds in the final then? *snigger*

Surprised John Terry didn't appear in full kit to pick up the trophy!

Fuzzar, I also very much doubt a man of his intelligence, education and pride - when faced with a difficult, multi-faceted decision based on huge swathes of empirical, philosophical and technical data - would have walked out into the middle of the Carrow Road pitch and made the decision based on the volume of the roar from the stands. Particularly if the roar for each option was at a decibel level within 2% of the other one. However much he respected the fans and valued their support and right to a view. I suspect Webber would have considered that to have to take such a major decision in such a clumsy way would have been a massive insult to his capabilities and a betrayal of the responsibilities of office he had been entrusted with. I'd like both teams to be found to have fallen foul of FFP, so neither get promoted. West Brom then beat Leeds in a rearranged play off, 16-15 on penalties. Failing the above, Derby.

I'll accept Luke Chambers as part payment but I'll want some change.

Would that include a couple of very old trophies from Suffolk?

Yep, it's well under way - they've removed pretty much all the artefacts from it.

Wilson was given a ‘long term contract’ last season by Liverpool so they will want a big fee in order to sell him. He probably is ‘worth’ £20m+. Certainly looks a player that would be quite comfortable in a mid table Premier League club. Considering Liverpool could probably make £5m on loan fees over the next season or two then he could easily be considered to be worth closer to £30m to them. If Maddison was £23m then I can’t see why Wilson wouldn’t be worth £25m - considering the money Liverpool could make from loans and them being under absolutely no pressure to sell. With the FA threatening to lower the limited of non-homegrown players in squads in the Premier League to 13 you won’t see clubs letting any home grown player go cheaply.

I may be wrong but these problems seem to crop up on a Bank holiday when nobody is around at Archant to get it fixed. What is this Inginx that pops up as well ?

Undoubted talent but looks a long way from the finished article. Both him and Mount seem to make some very poor decisions at times.

Not really. Klose wouldn't need a fee, has proven his ability over a few years and only lost his place due to injury. Rhodes has spent 3 seasons as a Championship bench warmer, not troubled double figures for goals in a fair while and would cost a fee + chunky wages.

Along with ten or so other teams in the PL next season we will need all the help we can get. The "every single small advantage" tactic adopted by Webber/Farke in the past (think pink dressing rooms etc.) will be tested to the full, have no doubt about that. The Premier League can probably now be divided into three tiers with the top six a virtual league of it's own, a few in the middle and the "league" that we will inhabit. Even so, those around us in expectation will have far more funds at their disposal, in a situation greatly influenced by the spend factor, than we will. This apart, we do indeed have other factors in our favour which have emanated from the skills of our management team and have led to, among other things, our much vaunted spirit, momentum and belief, but let's not kid ourselves with fancilful ideas that these factors alone will ensure a successful campaign. Like Sheffield United and the winners of today we will have a real fight on our hands and will need to scrap for every single point. Every little piece of good or bad fortune will be vital from the outset and every slight advantage is needed in the same way that the disadvantage of having Simon Hooper in charge of their first Premier League game was a factor that set Alex Neil's team en-route to relegation. For what it's worthy and on balance, I think we can do it, even if by the skin of our teeth, but as things stand at this moment in time the main positives for me lie in the wonderful experience of once again having some of the best teams and players in the world grace Carrow Road, have positive exposure for the club and have enough financial clout to set us sound for a number of years. These factors are the least we can aspire to, let's hope that they are not the most.

Portsmouth yet again will be there or thereabouts and of course don't rule out Rotherham who for the last few years have been too good for League One but cannot quite cut it in The Championship.

The reality is that they will have a real fight on their hands and Lambert will have to demonstrate a level of managerial and tactical skills hitherto denied him since his arrival at Portman Road. Summer dealings will be crucial, because the binners constant wish-lists of fancy signings deny their owner's historical unwillingness to splash the cash and therefore the manager's nous in the transfer market will be tested to the full. Lambert did well in this respect at Norwich but his record since leaving Carrow Road has been somewhat indifferent. One thing for sure is that if they continue with this "big fish in a small pond" mentality disappointment will be on the cards. Even the smallest of League One fish will not arrive at the museum that is the 'Loo and be overawed by the "bulging" trophy cabinet on show and all those statues dotted around the ground and then roll over in a state of transfixed inferiority. They are all hardened fighters in that league, respect nobody as continual cup upsets indicate and will take no prisoners. ITFC could be stuck down there for a while unless they shake of their constant reference to their glorious history and face the stark reality of their plight.

Would suggest he has a big connection to the club. Think you may be underestimating the season we've just had and the justified affection he's been shown by the fans. Suspect like the players, all staff are all now very much fans of this club. Look even at how If I Pinto left and he's hardly played. The support they all got last season was second to no club! SW knows he's very much appreciated and highly regarded by us all and none of Man Utds money can by that!

Villa for me. They demonstrated true class at the end of our season and Teams like that need to be rewarded. Also, I don’t subscribe to the idea that crappy teams have to come up with us to improve our chances of staying up. I compare this to when i’m Playing golf with other players and they ask, “Why do you play those expensive balls? I play Pro-V1s because in my own mind I am legend..;) Anyway, they ask because they play a crappy Slazenger ball, which they don’t care if they lose, because it’s cheap. I tell them, “It’s simple. I do care to and I don’t expect to lose my ball.” I believe that by playing with a cheaper ball you are subconsciously telling yourself that you don’t care if you hit a bad shot. With respect to NCFC, I’d rather we play well and earn the right and respect to not only stay up, but finish 10th, than have to rely of three crappier teams to ‘survive’.

That might be where the idea of stars on their shirt came from..... Let's face it, both seem determined to avoid paying their dues, so it wouldn't be the only thing that they have in common.

Gotta love Mick, the only ex manager to extract the urine out of his previous club. Most are far too bumlickykissypants. 'grateful for the opportunity, always be a special club to me, loved my time there etc etc'. What absolute mugs they were to get rid of him.

How many goals did Pukki score for Celtic? How many Champs standard games had CZ played before he became a CB mainstay? Had we bought Aarons and bunged him straight in we would have been appalled. Did anyone expect Stieperman to be a goalscoring rampaging AM? Had anyone heard of Emi? My point is that neither cost nor past performance at other clubs are pointers to whether someone is right. This team is a no name bugdet buy special cleverly put together. See Sanchez and Pogba as higher level examples of expensive"upgrades" which flopped. For me Rhodes ticks as many boxes as there are: probably cheap, experienced, fits the ethos, happy to be here, will not complain if used as back up and scoes goals when given the chance. Seems pretty low risk to me. Anyone better will cost too much, is risky, and takes budget from other positions needing upgrading.
