I was watching the Leeds Vs Derby match and the picture went off. I tapped the side of my TV and Bamford fell over.

I realise opinions differ but mine is basically that next season, for a start off at least, we start with what we have. Clearly it would be foolish not to strengthen the squad, but deadwood needs to be unloaded first. I feel that it is imperative that any 'strengthening' does not involve massive fees and wages contracts. Being financially secure is the foremost requisite of our club, imo. Previous opportunities have been "pissed against the wall" apparently, but we must not that mistake again. We do need an extra, and probably expensive striker. We probably need defensive mid-field and 'keeper backup. Another wide player would not go amiss. That's my limit as long as we stick to the proven policy of very well researched and appropriate value aquisitions. However, we have a very talented manager, a well integrated squad who appear to be fully behind the cause and deserve to be appreciated at the highest level and the prospect of millions in the club's bank account. If it doesn't work then there is the next window. If that fails to work then we will surely be in an imperial position to rule the Chumps once again. I realise that I am a bit of an Ebeneezer in all this, but noises from the club suggest that they (Webber) think along my lines. We have won the lottery "Spend, spend, spend" is not for me. "Humbug."

You bring people in to challenge for a first team slot and Farke decides who he gives that slot to. I understand the sentiment but signing “backups” is mainly throwing money down the toilet, the bar has been set, you bring people in you expect to raise it.

If you'd watched any matches over the last two seasons then you'd already know the answer.

Aren’t they looking to lose a good portion of their team due to out of contract players and loanees returning to their parent clubs? If this is the case, then I’m not sure anyone has a clear idea of where they’ll finish the season, since they don’t know what players they’ll have at their disposal. Am I missing something? -Probably, but let’s keep the replies on point...;)

I just nipped over to TWTD to see the source for this CK but as soon as I opened the site, two of the most recently-started threads stood out. Never mind next season, this lot will never move on will they?

It is a little odd - not long ago some would have had you believe NO was the best striker outside the PL....something I never bought into; he’s decent enough but doesn’t fit our needs and we would be far better selling while there’s some transfer value. I agree with splendidrush, if it was a direct choice between him and Rhodes I’d go with the latter (not that it has to be either) who has proved he fits in with the current set-up and possibly more deserves a chance.

Why should anybody risk upsetting the apple cart at this glorious moment in the time of our club? Webber/Farke have far more sense. They will know that they can find better. Besides, Olly, who is capable of his moments but that is all, is rather over-rated, imo. Him and Reading are well met in my opinion. Not just one but one hundred "no" votes from me.

Togetherness of the squad and full buy in to our culture is the biggest asset we have, I cant see us risking that for anyone.

I have to have another too, similar to this. It's my 6 year old sons first season of real interest in Football. Experiencing and sharing this season with him has been the best football experience of my life. It also has him hooked on City, hopefully permanently. As we live over 200 miles away from the City, he has friends trying to influencing him to other teams. They have failed.

I am not believing any of these silly season rumours unless Alan Nixon is reporting it

Would be worth it just for the reaction on WACCOE. And we could then do a Becchio and not use him to wind them up further.

It's an absolute nonsense, don't really understand this whole "I can see why he was awarded it". The teams started the season having last time finished 10th and 14th with a 9 point gap. In between that finish and the start of this season Norwich saw, in financial terms, significantly more talent walk out the door than Sheff Utd. And Norwich spent less on incoming talent. Yes, our wage budget was higher, but it dropped significantly whilst theirs almost certainly rose and a lot of our wage budget was going to players Farke had no access to for various reasons. The result against that backdrop when looking at the two in isolation? A massive 14 point swing in Norwich's favour. This is a manager of the season award, not a manager of the last three years, which undoubtedly belongs to Wilder and Wilder alone. He has done a remarkable, unbelievable job in those three seasons. But in the last season he has been utterly eclipsed by Farke, by any rational, objective measure. Jingoistic blinkers has won Wilder the award, not merit or worthiness.
