Maybe he's a little more keen now that we're not playing Millwall next season. 😉

I still have a lot of respect for McNally he did what he needed to when he came in, I now have huge respect for Webber again did what he needed to and most of all I have found more respect to Delia and co for twice recognising things had to change, making those changes and getting the deserved success!

I don’t think I can ever remember a time on the Pink’un message board where so many people sung from the same song sheet. A few years ago, there would have been absolute uproar if a senior figure at NCFC admitted that we weren’t going to be spending millions upon our return to the Premier League. But now there’s a massive sense of unity, and we’re all buying into Farke and Webber’s masterplan. It’s so refreshing to see 👍

I want to finish in front of Brighton's Tony "you won't get another sniff of the PL with your owners" Bloom! I think underneath it all these people are scared because success for us brings them under an uncomfortable spotlight.

Dear oh dear. I used to respect her, but this has lowered my opinion of her 100%. Lazy, uninformed, pushing the financial angle - the bottom line is that richer clubs HATE the idea that success can be had without spending multi-millions. I really hope we do succeed well next season, if only to prove money is not the be all and end all.....after all we proved it this season, so why not next?

"If I can offer promoted Norwich and Sheffield United one piece of advice — don't try to survive in the Premier League on the cheap." As opposed to the headline: Don't try to survive in the Premier League on the cheap' - West Ham chief warns Canaries and Blades Seems a fairly accurate representation. I imagine Karen Brady would probably not recommended shooting for the Championship title whilst reducing your wage bill by 60%, selling off 40 mil of talent and playing three young inexperienced players in defence. In other words, who cares what advice she has to offer?

Fulham spend £100 and messed up, Wolves spend £100m and got 7th. It’s almost as if it isn’t the large amount of money that is the problem, but the plan and due diligence that is used when spending that money. Fulham relied too heavily on data and didn’t do their homework on character and personality. They also got a bit giddy with who they could attract and went for some names, rather than getting the balance they needed across the team. Wolves had a plan and spent money targeted and wisely. Fulham went crazy. Which way do you think Webber would go? (Not that Norwich have £100m to spend).

I just can’t see how people doubt whether Tim Krul “has the quality for the premier league”!!!!! 1) he’s played the majority of his career there. 2) he’s a Dutch international that has World Cup appearances to his name. i don’t get it. Yes he’s dropped one or two clangers but have you seen de Gea this season? its a shame the errors stick in people’s memories but the top drawer saves don’t.

I remember him being terrible. He kept making errors which led to goals. I can't imagine him fitting back into the team. Fairly sure he's just hanging around to pick up the increased wages. Not criticising anyone for that situation, the recruitment has been very good, but this signing was one of the few exceptions.

BBC too sensitive, but he was a little insensitive tweeting it. By the way, it's brown sauce on things like pork pies and bacon butty's but red sauce on Cornish Pastes and chips -it's the way I like it !

Well. He's on our books Farke/Webber signed him and their record of players from the German league is pretty immaculate at the moment. Farke must have fancied him for a reason so it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that the extra centre back that everybody says we need is already on the books. On the other hand, I have never really seen him in action being a long distant plastic so from my viewpoint he might therefore also be genuinely not good enough.Others will know. For this though he won't have been the only one of the current manager's imports who have needed time to find his feet in England so to speak. Perhaps his regrets are genuine but, then again, he might just be sniffing the extra money and is willing to put up with another dose of his reported 'homesickness' in order to line his pockets. He does appear to have a bit of a nerve either way. Whatever, Webber will deal with it, Farke will know. Curious one though.

I suspect he wants to renegotiate the contract offered by Darmstadt. Franke’s wages will have just gone up by 30% - 40% and he’ll want that reflected in the deal he’s being offered by prospective clubs. He could also come back to Norwich, then go out on loan again, pocketing his pay rise and then get to leave on a free next summer - which is always a more profitable time to move for a player.

I keep hearing an argument that Fulham blowing a load of money and still being relegated is a good reason why we should not spend much. I don’t agree. The opposite of spending badly is spending well not spending nothing. The Prem is a huge step up- and experience last time round should serve as all the evidence we need that being miserly leads to misery Everyone is very happy at present. And rightly so. But we cannot spurn yet another opportunity- each time we go up we mess it up! Here then are three things our recent trips to the Orem should have taught us: 1) wasting money on has been half hearted players is suicide. Cf - Naismith 2) spending with no plan is suicide - cf overstocked AM but no CB last time round 3) crossing fingers till January is suicide - cf Dean Ashton and Klose arriving several months too late

That tweet is fine. But at the end of last season he was really eager to stick the knife into Webber and Delia/MWJ. I think he described Norwich’s 14th position a ‘disgrace’ and the reason he didn’t have money to buy a striker in the Prem was because Delia and MWJ had their loans repaid. He just comes across as a bandwagon jumper.

WTF People, he did his best whilst at the club, he turned as around when we were in an absolute hole. He then took us up twice to the Premiership, twice! Then he oversaw mid table positioning in the top flight. He then congratulates the team for their success, which is a nice thing to do, and, still, some f*ckt*rds hit him with ridiculous hate. It's pathetic. These are the same "fans" who will get on Farke's back the moment we start losing back to back games in the Prem, which will happen! Absolutely it will.

I suppose we should not be surprised that the more "pessimistic" amongst us will start posting their prophecies of doom early in the hope that at the end of the season they can say "I told you so". I do not know if it is because I am of a "certain age" but I intend to enjoy next season, regardless of what happens, as I will all subsequent seasons I am able to attend, regardless of which league we are playing in. In the grand scheme of things how much we spend etc etc is way down on my list of worries and concerns, my personal motto these days with all things of a more trivial nature - "It is what it is".......

Agreed AM. He was what was needed at the time. He helped pick us up by the short and curlies when we needed it on and off the pitch. He wasn't Doomcaster or any of the Evans puppets and for that we should be grateful.

oh dear the idea of sticking milk in first cam from the services where milk was put into umpteen cups so as to save time when the tea was ready and putting milk into a cup with a tea bag in it is as absurd as putting milk in a tea pot do check first, before spouting

I have loads of respect for McNally. Just not when he tweets on Saturday nights. We should all remember his big truth though. "Success in football is cyclical".

Part of Webbers talk is expectation management. I suspect several of the lower EPL teams are no better, indeed worse than than the better Championship ones including us. We just have to be better than these next season; more clinical and fewer defensive errors and keep some momentum and team morale. Yes we need some extra players but nothing idiotic. Mid table I expect to finish...much like Lambert's first season.

Wes also dropped in an ‘us’ when talking about the fans. “The fans always stick by us” before realising and changing it to ‘them’. He’d have loved to have been part of this team and season and in his prime would’ve been a fantastic addition. You can take the player out of the club but you can’t take the club out of the player. Legend.

Thank you to whoever donated the £20 so Wazzy and myself could have one more go each to win us some cash. I like being called a champion, feel I should get Tilly to get me a speech ready I tend to go for English/Scottish games as know more about those teams , there's some on Sat and loads on Sunday to choose from. Will be back on Friday about 10pm which gives you loads of time to help with selections. Good Luck Wazzy

First up, congrats to both Wazzy and Diane for your respective victories. And thanks to our generous PUP who funded this "play off". For Wazzy, an offering from La Liga and Atletico Madrid to win at home vs Sevilla. 2nd vs 6th but Atleti will be hoping to guarantee the runners up spot. For Diane, I'll suggest Tottenham to win at home vs Everton and seal their Top 4 place. Best of luck both.

Idah needs games. That is where he is at now in his development. At Norwich he’s likely to get some cup game and a handful of appearances off the bench at the very most. I’d say finding him someone in League One who’ll give him 30 plus starts is the best option. If Liverpool loan out Brewster it will be on the understanding he’s first choice or getting a lot of game time - so unlikely he’d be coming to Norwich. If they were to loan him to Norwich and he play a handful of games off the bench, then it would be damaging to his develop, and selfishly, it’s better Norwich hamper Brewster’s development than Idah’s. Norwich should treat their young players the same as someone like Liverpool treat their young players and find them a club where they can play week in, week out. Personally, I’m not going to get too excited over Idah yet. Pacy attackers often out perform at youth level but find transition into senior football hard. Until he plays senior football I’m not going to get too worked up or excited about his potential.

I think we've been up there enough times of late to know what it needs and that its not how much you spend but how well you spend and making sure you address any obvious weaknesses. Last time we went up we all knew the defence needed addressing but we failed to do it in the summer (because we missed out on ambitious targets and it appeared had no plan B) and ended up panic buying in January to try and cover the gaps and it cost us big time both in terms of who we were able to sign (although Klose not a bad signing) and the terms we had to agree to. I don't think many of our fans expect us to spend huge money this summer and indeed I think most of us think we can find players to strengthen our squad without paying over inflated fees if we continue to get the recruitment right. So far as Fulham are concerned I think they also just tried to change too much, too quickly and actually just made their team worse in the process. our initial promotion under Lambert (and the experiences of plenty of other teams) show that a winning mentality and momentum, supplemented by just a bit of extra quality, can carry you a long way in your first season up there after which you need to start to and continue to evolve. That's the approach I expect us to take - no stupid spending spree, keep faith with the majority of the players who got us up but that does not mean it will be acceptable if we don't act to bring in 3 or 4 quality recruits to bolster the squad.

I'd rather we spent next to nothing and went back down than gamble everything to stay up. Yes, the gamble may pay off but if it doesn't we'll still have those expensive players to pay and no money left! If we did go straight back down but kept to Farke's philosophy I could see us coming straight back up but stronger!

I disagree almost totally with the op. To start with, the premier league is not "a huge step up" - it is hyped by the media as such, but in reality it is just another football league at a higher standard than the one we are leaving. Making too much of that is just trying to build the drama of it. I would rather see the present players having a good go and would even accept not getting anyone in, although we are certain to get some in to replace those that are surplus to requirements....but they will not cost a huge amount. People seem to think the team as it is will not be up to the job, yet we have dominated this division with the way we play. Yes, we can and need to improve, but the players we have can improve and develop. You look all through the team/squad and you see players who are of the highest quality - Buendia, Aarons, Vrancic, Pukki, Leitner, Lewis, Godfrey, Zimmermann who has a huge effect on the team, Klose, Stiepermann who will imo surprise everyone again next season, Krul who made crucial saves, particularly towards the end of the season, Hernandez will be a thorn in premier league defences, Trybull who is underated by some, but who has been candiaite for motm several times this season, Mclean who has kept out Vrancic and Leitner for goodness sakes etc etc. Yes they will need back up and support, so it's there we will need to build the squad, Heisse is there already, along with those that have contributed this season. Will we spend big? No, it just isn't going to happen. We will spend a small amount on squad building.....but I am looking forwards to the first game next season and seeing 11 players who have played for us this season, preferably with Vrancic as the first name on the teamsheet. He out of all of them has shown he has big match mentality. Oh - and if it means we get relegated, so be it. Best we go into the premier league not panicking or being desperate to stay there - we need to go there to play football and enjoy it. That has been the mantra this season and will be next - no worries or concerns and simply continue the same as we have this season, only better.

can see where you are coming from but do not wholly agree. We have massively over achieved this season and honestly I do not expect much from the Prem next season. Consider it this way: if we ended up where Middlesbrough did this season (with our style of play not theirs) I think most would agree this would have meant great progress on last season. Then if the following season we made playoffs but didnt get promoted, most would agree this represents more progress. Finally, the season after we win promotion either through the playoffs or automatically, most would agree this would be fulfillment of the project with clear progression over time. We just smashed that and I see this shot at the Prem as a bit of a freebie in the scheme of things. Even if we go down then plan properly we can go straight back up in far better shape both financially and in terms of club structure and team culture without missing a beat on the above timeline. Webber has already said that this promotion will finance facility upgrades and finish paying off the mistakes of the past (Wildschut, Jarvis, Naismith, Oliviera, the depressingly long list goes on). I am on board and while I hope we can make a good fist of it in the prem, i feel that this is a much longer term project with better to come on the horizon.

I'm still of the opinion that Timm is our best CB when fit - so this is great news.

I wouldn’t say the Klose money was blown, had he not have got injured I suspect the history books on the club would have read slightly differently.

That’s what it got WBA last season, next season will be worth more as the new TV deal kicks in and it is larger than the previous one. That is what the £70m of parachute payments are for - while I’m not a advocate of spending for spending sake - Norwich need to make every effort to stay in the league and that means spending all available resource. Teams who come down after one season get 2 years of parachute payments, teams who come down after 2 or more seasons get 3 years. Norwich were relatively lucky this season that the relegated teams were all in pretty bad ways behind the scenes and apart from WBA never looked like challenging for promotion. There was also no Wolves like team who had that sudden cash injection. This won’t be the case every season, Norwich have done the really hard bit in getting promoted, they need to push with all they have to make sure they stay up. Putting £20m away for a rainy day could cost them hundreds of millions.
