Iโ€™d be crying and emotional if I played a football game after what looks like two days of solid drinking.

It was the best of times....yep, that's it pretty much I've not done many reports this season - life has got in the way and I've quite a few half-finished ones that I never had time to post. But a bank holiday weekend means I actually have time for a report today. So, an unchanged team was no surprise. Tom Trybull's injury has given us McClean and Vrancic in front of the familiar back 4 of Aarons, Godfrey, Zimm and Lewis, with Buendia and Hernandez roaming from the flanks, Stiepermann behind Pukki. Krul played every game in the end. A bright cold day in April and the clocks were striking 12.30 as the game kicked off - well, actually it was pretty overcast and kick off was a minute or two late... City were on the front foot from the off. I'd been delayed setting off (by our new cat - don't ask) so arrived just in time to see the kick off on the TV in the incredibly tiny bar area at Villa park, and watched the first couple of attacks which showed City meant business. Fortunately in a break in play I was able to find an empty seat and very soon afterwards McLean played an exquisite through ball for Hernandez who got to the byline and zipped it across the 6-yard box, no surprise Pukki was there first to flick it on into the net. Villa Park hasn't been a great place for us to visit over the years, and I"ve never seen us win here, but City were playing with the freedom you'd hope for after guaranteeing promotion last week so maybe that would change. City were now rampant and for the next few minutes threatened to overrun Villa. But on a foray downfield, probably their second attack of the game, Buendia put in a rash challenge out on the byline and Villa had a set piece which they put into the box and their striker was a yard quicker off the blocks than Zimm and flicked the header into the net. It was reminiscent of goals conceded against Preston and Millwall among others, and a reminder (not needed I'm sure) to messrs Farke and Webber that Defending Set Pieces needs to be high on the agenda for next season. City were still looking the better side, creating chances fluently, while Villa were relying on being more direct. Both sides created chances - one City attack was cleared as far as Hernandez who curled a stunning shot onto the bar. At the far end, Villa got the ball through to the by-line in the box, but Krul was there to put the ball behind. At one point Villa seemed to be trying to target high balls into our right back position, an interesting choice of tactic I have to say; after it failed to get them anything at all, they wisely seemed to give up on it. We had one long delay when McLean went down on the far side of the field and resumed play after lengthy treatment but it wasn't particularly surprising when he was replaced by Tettey shortly before half-time. So at half time with Sheffield United losing to Stoke it was looking very comfortable. Amusingly, Leeds were failing to beat L1pswich. Play resumed and I felt it was a more even game, both sides creating chances. At the City end we had one Villa cross which flashed across the 6-yard box with no one particularly close and one wild back pass from our left which beat Krul and fortunately was wide of the right hand post when Zimm slid in to clear it into touch. At the other end in front of us away fans, City were looking back in control as the half wore on, creating quite a few good chances which frustratingly wouldn't quite fall right for the finish, Hernandez much involved although all our front players were combining fluently, it's great to have Vrancic and Buendia back. Leitner was brought on for Stiepermann around 70 mins and City were looking very composed in possession. We heard that Sheffield had fallen behind and then equalised, so it was beginning to look like a draw would be enough, but as always that can change in an instant so it was looking like it would shape up for nervy last few minutes. But happily a super run by Jamal Lewis from the left and cutting inside let him square the ball to Vrancic who hit a perfectly placed shot from the edge of the box with his weaker right foot for 2-1 City. The players went as crazy as the away fans, the entire team coming over to celebrate in front of us including Krul running the entire length of the pitch. These guys care - I noticed Aarons was really annoyed with some steward who stopped him going right up to the away fans to celebrate with them. After the goal City still looked more likely to score and there were just 3 minutes added time. Farke made his trademark CB substitution in injury time, although it was Hanley brought on for Hernandez this time rather than Klose - a nice touch to give him the chance to be on the pitch at the end. My match clock was showing 93 minutes were exactly up when Villa won a corner and City just had time to clear it safely before the final whistle blew, cue wild celebrations, then we had to wait while the Villa players went around the pitch - no end to the season for them - and they put up the presentation stand for the trophy while the City players went back to the dressing room. It was great to see them come out and all get on the podium before the trophy was finally lifted. We've definitely been the best team in the division, but you have to prove it by results and we've more than done that, 94 points, 5 points clear of Sheffield Utd and 11 points clear of the imploding Leeds in 3rd ๐Ÿ˜‰ which is a fair reflection over the season IMO. The players each took it in turns to raise the trophy in front of the fans - I'll try to post some pics when I have time. Lots of nice moments - Max Aarons filming the crowd singing "There's a starman playing on the right..." Emi Buendia draping the trophy in the Argentine flag - applause from a fair number of Villa fans who'd stayed for the presentation (credit to them), Zimm and Klose lifting the trophy together., inevitably Rhodes being asked to start a song ( you can guess which one he started), a nice good by to Ivo Pinto by the fans.. so many. It was great when Farke lifted the trophy (after all the players) and then Klose insisting that Delia and MWJ had their chance to lift it. So a perfect end to a perfect season, it had to end eventually !. For me, I had a feeling this team was something special after demolishing Sheff Wed 4-0 away, but the night I thought we'd win promotion was when we lost 3-1 at Preston. Why ? Because after going in at half-time 2-0 down (a set piece and a dodgy penalty) and going 3-0 down when they were able to score after a wonder shot from far out had hit the bar while we were pushing on to get one back, our team still wouldn't give up. And Max Aarons wanted it so much that he pushed over their keeper to try to get the ball back when Pukki finally scored at the very end. Despite winning 3-1, Preston's MOTM was their keeper Declan Rudd and he played a blinder. I thought then, if that's what it takes to beat us - (the last defeat we suffered this season as it turned out) - we're going to go up. And now we are. Next season can look after itself. This has been the most amazing season, and what a time to be a City fan !!

I can't help but smile when I read comments on various sites where geniuses tell us Norwich will be straight back down. Statistically, it is likely and I hate losing multiple games but beyond that I know Norwich City will not be burdened with disinterested prima donnas on crippling wages and will be in a good position to go again in The Championship. And money and media exposure aside there is more to enjoy in the Championship than the EPL outside of the top 8 clubs. We are not going to win the EPL but just look at today's occasion. Money aside how much fun has it been following say, Southampton in recent years. There are so many games in the Championship and so many famous clubs. It is a supporters league. And so, there is no fear in relegation. The only fear is in failing to be true to ourselves or in not doing ourselves justice. We can go into the 2019/20 EPL season and enjoy ourselves. We have an identity and an ethos. We will continue building strong club foundations and if we lose players we will get a proper recompense. We have defensive weaknesses and this season overcame them by more attacking to preoccupy the opposition. We will need to evolve. Crucially, we need Buendia for most of the games as his link play and play in tight marking situations is the difference. Just have a go. Never Mind the Danger. And who knows, our qualities might just spring a few surprises.

Can't argue with much of that, tbh I dislike the Premiership intensely, it's killing football as a sport, it's just a money League the top six have most of it. It's like a game of monopoly, where you start with nothing and your opponent has hotels on Park Lane and Mayfair. Still, I know that we have to be there, I just enjoy the journey more than the destination.

Certainly my favourite season since my first game in 1987. I enjoyed 88-89 and 92-93(arguably the best 18months ever with the first half of the following season) top of the league at Portman road was a very good season. I enjoyed the novelty of league 1 and up until now the following season was my favourite. Wembley was amazing and the best day but that season promotion was expected. I don't know if it's just because I'm older, but everything seems more emotional, this season has been perfect results wise but I have never known a season where I have felt so connected to the club, players, other fans, third season feels more personal to me. I have truly loved this season.

Take a look back at it all . Did anyone really see this coming ? Dramatic late winners. New young players and players brought in as bargains. Golden boot. Finishing as champions whilst the mob down the road finish bottom . our ex manager turns up at CR , has a little paddy and gets sent to the stand. Ive been following Norwich for near 40 years now and put all the above together and this season tops them all for me. OTBC

Thank you for the music First up, I make no apologies for the essay length of this. I do not expect anyone to read it in full, so fine if itโ€™s all TL;DR. I thought I would pen (type) my gratitude to all associated with Norwich City Football Club for the magical season they have brought us. I have identified the main players below, but also want to thank all those in the backroom who work tirelessly to make this great club what it is and have been a huge part of something so special. Each and everyone one of you should be proud of what you have achieved. Your achievements have touched tens, if not hundreds of thousands across the globe. Here in little Adelaide, South Australia, I know of at least a dozen of us who will be getting rather drunk next week end and doubtless many more across my fair country. So to the individuals โ€“ letโ€™s start at the top: Delia and Michael โ€“ thank you for persevering with a model that many called unworkable at the very beginnings of this season. It would have been so easy to scrap it, without fear of repercussion due to the results. But you knew what you had and for that I thank you. You care deeply for this club, it shows and we are lucky to have owners who do care; none would have been so brave as to rip up the blueprint and start again like you did. Stuart Webber โ€“Genius indeed describes how you have handled the difficult task of getting this club into this amazing situation. Without your vision there is no chance we would be here. We would probably have become Ipswich mark 2 โ€“ grubbing in the league for countless years before succumbing to inevitable decline. Thank you for your incredible work and I hope you stick with us for a few more seasons yet, before going on to bigger and brighter (but not better!) things. Daniel Farke โ€“ I admit I didnโ€™t believe when we lost 3-0 to Leeds. My faith and patience further eroded in the dull 1-1 draw with L1pswich. It is a good thing I donโ€™t own Norwich City, because I would have made the biggest mistakeโ€ฆYou have made a fool of me sir, and I could not be happier. You have found an extraordinary blend of youth, experience and multicultural approach to a league many would say lacks such culture in its football. Thank you, Mr Farke, for a most memorable, wonderful season. May you too, stay with us for many years to come! Daniel Farkeโ€™s coaching staff โ€“ Sorry I do not know all the names, but I know that without you, Daniel would not be able to execute his plans, nor Stuart his vision. Thank you for your tireless efforts and work over the season. Now to the Team (the main cast) Tim Krul โ€“ we had a shaky start there, but you have grown into the role of last line of defence and first line of attack. You have provided excellent cover and your experience has been a massive part of our success. You really look like you have fallen in love with Norwich City, and Norwich has fallen in love with you. All the best in the Premier League and thank you for all those wonderful stops. My personal favourite is the one at Wigan. I genuinely believe that goes in 2-0 and we may not have had the fortitude to go on and draw subsequent games that got us over the line. Jamal Lewis โ€“ you burst onto the scene last season and have become even more this year. Pace, intelligence and positional awareness have improved beyond measure this season. You may not have got that league goal, but you provided some of the best assists or were part of some of our best moves. Thank you for your wonderful performances this year. Chrisoph Zimmermann โ€“ Captain, my Captain. You have been a bear in defence this year. For me, your revelation came against Arsenal in the League Cup last year. There you showed what you were all about. You have produced an entire season of these performances, brave, gritty and chipping in with the odd goal too, which is vital for an all-round central defender. Calmness and tenacity in equal measure, thank you for you leadership! Ben Godfrey โ€“ that you kept out one of my favourite players (Timm Klose) really says it all. A ball playing, fearless, skilful, intelligent centre back is more than we could have ever wished for. I know your career was (may yet still be) in midfield, but you have been a tremendous part of our attack from the back policy. You are always there to receive the pass after a break up in play and drive forward, or to put your body on the line to block a shot or make an important interception. Thank you for your incredible work this season. Max Aarons โ€“ you are, for me, the biggest revelation this season; a young, bold, attacking player, with footballing wisdom beyond your years and pace to burn. There are others who have been amazing (and they will get their turn), but since the L1pswich match, you made that position so unattainable for anyone else. A bloody amazing season and I know you still have more to develop, which is, quite frankly, a frightening thought. Thank you, Max, for your insane development this season! Tom Trybull โ€“ you are my underrated gem this season. So much of what you do is behind the scenes. Breaking up attacks from the middle, instigating counters, keeping moves going that may otherwise falter. The Defensive Midfield role is a bit of a general on the park, pulling the strings of both the attack and defence. You have done this admirably this season and I look forward to seeing more of your abilities in the Premier League. Thank you for your tremendous work this season. Alex Tettey โ€“ you are the longest serving player at our club. You have provided us all with great memories and here you are producing more in another great season. I know you were sidelined for much of the second half of the season, but our promotion owes much to your typically tenacious work in the middle of the park. That wonder-goal against Preston gave us our first win and I do think that without it we may not be here. I know seasons are not all about one moment, but a collection of millions, but to me that was a watershed moment. Thank you, Alex, for all your hard work over the years. Kenny McLean โ€“ Injury robbed us of your talents in the first half of the season. I did not know what to expect when you came in for the injured Vrancic, who had been so instrumental for us, but what we saw was a composed, intelligent midfielder with exceptional vision for picking defence splitting passes. Couple that with your excellent aerial ability to win 50/50 balls in the midfield and you were the genesis of many cutting attacks. You were also not shy of finding the goal yourself either through a hammering volley or a deft touch over an onrushing keeper. Thank you for your incisive passing and great footballing vision. Mario Vrancic โ€“ Super Mario, a moniker that suits your exploits on the park this season. So instrumental with final balls into the box, but it is your free kicks that I will remember and savour the most. From the opener against Leeds to the dramatic closer against Sheffield Wednesday, your dead ball prowess knows no equal in a City shirt this season. Kept out by a match winning first eleven in the second half of the season, when you were called upon you got in and did what you do best. Thank you for your awesome free kicks and deadly crosses. Moritz Leitner โ€“ You are composed, professional and quick thinking; the very definition of a cultured, technical master. I have no doubt your skills will fit right in in the Premier League, as your calm assuredness and unswaying accuracy on the ball are vital components to success. Add in a lethal goal-scoring instinct and you are the complete professional footballer. I do think you were unlucky to be injured when you were and found it hard to get back into a team with so many talented players, but your ability is unquestionable and I look forward to your return in the Premier League. Thank you for your accuracy and technical master class. Onel Henandez โ€“ you will be the first Cuban born player in the Premier League, how proud you must be. It could not happen to a better person. Blistering pace, tricky feet, and bullish work on and off the ball, you caused more than your fair share of headaches for any team down our left hand side. Your work rate was excellent and your link-play with Lewis sublime. Your late show against Nottingham Forest stands out for me, what a moment that was. Thank you, Onel, for your tireless work, brilliant trickery and important late goals. Marco Stiepermann โ€“ you have been my second biggest revelation of the season. It is fair to say you had a difficult start to life at Norwich, playing as a โ€œutility manโ€ across various positions, with varying success. But in the โ€œnumber 10โ€ role you have succeeded. Physicality, hold up play and bringing the players around you into the game and attacking moves, not to mention 10 goals with that hammer left foot. Delicate interplay mixed with hard physical presence, you were the epitome of defending from the front. Thank you for your link up play and quirky goal celebrations. Emi Buendia โ€“ I can only describe you as a magician. You do magical, inexplicable things on the pitch. To borrow from J.K Rowling: โ€œYouโ€™re a wizard, Emiโ€. And itโ€™s not just with the ball at your feet; you are a terrier without it, hounding opposition players to give it back. You are the biggest jewel in the Webber-Farke crown of recruitment for mine. Absolutely breathtaking, the X-factor player every successful team needs, and one of the most difficult things to find. Thank you, Emi, for the on-field magic. Teemu Pukki โ€“ who? Thatโ€™s what I said the first time I heard your name. You are quite simply the find of the season across all divisions: predatory instincts; check, quick movement; check, lethal finishing long, short and medium range; check โ€“ and a great guy to boot. You hound defences without the ball and scare the **** out of them with it. It has been a long time since City have had a striker of your pedigree and there is no way this works without an expert marksman. Thank you, Teemu, for all those wonderful goals. PUKKI PARTY!! Timm Klose โ€“ as I said earlier, one of my favourite players in a city shirt, you are a cultured, ball playing centre back. I have heard that you have been instrumental in Ben Godfreyโ€™s rise. A professional through and through as well as a tremendous centre back, I do hope you stay with us for a Premier League assault, as your experience in both that league and with this club is irreplaceable. Thank you for your great defending when called upon, and for your wisdom and support of our younger players. Todd Cantwell โ€“ you have come a long way this season, scoring your first league goal for Norwich and becoming an exciting prospect for the future. Danielโ€™s faith in you was warranted as you have shown some sparks of great ability during the season and I am sure this will only grow as more development opportunities come your way. Thank you Todd for your perseverance in what was sometimes a difficult season with us and I hope you continue to grow and develop with us as a player. Jordan Rhodes โ€“ you were going to be our striker, but Mr Pukki had other ideas. Instead of sulking and kicking up a fuss and demanding a return back to your parent club, you got down with the business of supporting this team when asked, and came up with important goals when they mattered. The goals against Aston Villa and WBA stick out for me, as they came at critical times for the club. I hear you like it in Norwich and enjoy the team and culture. From a fan perspective the feeling is mutual, and no matter what your future, thank you, Jordan, for your goals and the part you played in this magical season. Grant Hanley โ€“ you are another international centre back who has seen limited time during this season due to the emergence of Christoph and Ben. Again, reports are that you have been extremely supportive of the younger players, passing on your experience and wisdom to them. I do hope you stay with us on our trip to the Premier League, as your support and experience are likely to further our chances of survival. Thank you, Grant, for your support of our younger players and being a part of this great team. To all the other players โ€“ Aston Oxborough, Michael McGovern, Felix Passlack, Louis Thompson, Ben Marshall โ€“ thank you for your hard work and support of the team this season. It takes an entire squad pulling in the same direction to foster the culture and team spirit that has allowed Norwich to achieve what it has this season. Thank you! Finally, a special mention to Ivo Pinto โ€“ a great character, wonderful player and I wish him all the best in the next phase of his career. I do think his marauding ways at right-back paved the way for players like Aarons, and I will miss him. OTBC!

I too had a funny feeling this maybe his last appearance in a City shirt after watching that. But to be fair, I think if Tettโ€™s was moving on then this would have been announced alongside the Pinto news so supporters would get the chance to give him a send off today too. So for that reason, I fully expect him to be here next season. The younger lads have done great, but I do think we will also need some experienced heads around the place for the Premier League.

In terms of Paul Lambert the man, I agree with you. His legacy has been destroyed this season. In terms of 2010-11 as a season, nothing can tarnish it. It was a minor miracle on par with this season and we should never forget that just because of the subsequent actions of one individual.

For those of you on Instagram, check out Todd Cantwell's story. He's got some videos of the squad singing karaoke whilst a little worse for wear last night, including one where all the players are singing along to the aforementioned song. Onel Hernandez has also put up a video of himself trying to singing it on his own on the bus this morning. Maverick.

A fantastic end to a wonderful week for our club. That night against Blackburn, Mario's thunderbolt, the amazing celebrations after, winning at Villa Park for the first time in an eternity, becoming Champions and lifting the trophy.. then the great scenes today across the city, at City Hall, the bus parade and then finishing with 11 goals at the Carra and showing love for 2 genuine City legends. Il freely admit I had a couple of tears in the ol eyes on a few occasions. 37 years I have been a Yellow, this week was right up there with the best of them. Love you Norwich City.

I shoud imagine this has come from a camera...registration number recognition, which is a bit bizarre as it was pay and display I assume. A bit of a bind but I would advise appealing with evidence, but firstly contacting the manager at the Harvester and ask him to sort it out...as that is what the local paper has said you have to do before they will run the story ! ahem let him do the running about, that's what he is paid for. ps I hope no one from Norfolk didn't get caught out by thinking it was a combine harvester parking ๐Ÿ˜†

Controversial I know, but this season is no better than 2010-11 under Lambert in my eyes. It's probably about the same, for me. A team who nobody expected anything from, without any big names: just a load of young, hungry players plucked from obscurity. But they gelled together with a bold, attacking approach, scored loads of late goals, battered Ipswich and held their nerve at the end to clinch promotion. Two very similar seasons which rank alongside each other at the top. Farke has been phenomenal this season, but let's not allow Lambert's recent past to make us forget what he did in his three years here. Three years of absolute perfection.

I agree that large swathes of this game were very encouraging and we missed a penalty and Krul dropper a clanger but while the attacking play was great we were defensively all over the place. Last season Farke had the same issue: look good going forward, useless in defense or look solid defensively with a toothless attack. It was the imbalance that he managed to balance after that dreadful August. He got the team selections right and it clicked to showcase what his philosophy was all about. If you saw that in the WBA game well done. I didn't. I only saw the same issues we had last season with our negative goal difference and low points tally. I was wrong and so very happy about it!

Match of the Day is very hit and miss. The actual match highlights part of the show is fantastic - but it is really let down by the analysis of any team outside the top 10. Very few of their pundits take the time to learn about other teams in the league, which is infuriating as it is their job to be experts on the PL. Both 'Wrighty' and Shearer, while excellent players, seem particularly bad in this regard. I would back myself to be able to name more Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff players than either... and I'm no expert. I can't stand Sky, but to be fair, I have been incredibly impressed with Rosenior. He seems to have a wealth of knowledge about all the teams and managers in the Championship. It helps that he still has a love of the game, unlike Lawro.
