I was a defender of Lambert's until the match against Ipswich the other week. He did take this club, which was on its knees, to the Premier League and saved it. Yes, I know that his back room, and especially Culverhouse, where huge in the transformation, but Lambert played a vital part in that too. To see him last week, too see how far he has fallen. To read his comments, that do indeed border on the delusional, I cannot defend him any longer. I am not angry with him. I, in fact, am still grateful for everything he did for this club not too long ago. Now I just feel sad for the guy. Like seeing a fallen hero begging on the street, telling all those around him that he was a big-shot once. Such a shame.

I don't get to games very often, when I go I expect some atmosphere, if you want to watch in silence, stay home and watch it on tv, give your Ticket to someone else.

It’s a weird one, McLean took both his goals fantastically well but aside from that, wasn’t that great. Can’t argue with the fact he won us the game and I’m sure will keep his place next week now but overall I think we’re a better side with Leitner or Vrancic in that role

I’d say “flop” is unjustified in the case of a rookie manager whose team is still likely to finish 7th even if pipped for the playoffs. I still fancy them to finish above Bristol City. Nor is Lampard to blame for the ridiculous media love-in; he almost certainly would prefer not to be in the resulting spotlight all the time. He comes over as a thoroughly decent, remarkably modest guy finding his feet in a highly competitive league which pits him against rivals boasting far greater managerial experience.

At 64. I'm so sad, yet again. All my favourites dying off. I loved Life's What You Make It & It's My Life back in the day, but his last (self titled) album was incredible. I keep replaying The Daily Planet. His was such an odd voice with something of the cockney-from-another-planetness of some of Bowie's work (both reminded me of Anthony Newley) but capable of great subtlety & introspection & humanity; in many ways I associate him with Michael Stipe. RIP Mark.

Gave WBA a run for their money recently, this could be one of those "shock" results - They only just beat Bolton at home on Saturday -as we would miss Pukki - they will miss Roofe

.... but they'll argue that we've done nothing, ever. You can't win with them, you can talk about them being broke, or that they haven't won a Derby in 10 years, have dodged the Premier League for a generation and are on the edge of the abyss (League 1) and their stock answer is 'but at least we've got a History ' Good luck with that, claiming glory for events that occurred before most of their fans were born is like me bragging about defeating the Armada.

Came across this video. What is really striking is the even balance between left foot and right foot, the composure and how many of these goals are late goals (again composure in the moment) Not one header. Could you call him a 'fox in the box'?

ACN broke down how much they spent and how much each display for the games cost. It's actually a shed load more than I thought it'd be! I think they've done really well with the money and it is great to see the Barclay looking so alive with colour.

I'm not a fan of manufacturing an atmosphere and would usually moan and criticise. But from the riverend the flags look great, the atmosphere is awesome. When we sang on the ball city on Saturday I looked around me and you could just feel the magic. What a season. So well done those involved with getting the flags OTBC

FYI, the Pride of Anglia surfer isn't planned to be used imminently, although might make another appearance at some point. But we might have plans for another big flag (we do) so just watch this space. The Pride of Anglia one was pretty derby centric, with iconic goal celebrations from against Ipswich, ideally we'd have something a bit more generic if we were going to wheel it out regularly. Bottom line is though we doubt we'd do the same surfer every game, regardless of what's on it. That would just get too samey.

Plenty around London Bridge, then get train from LB to South Bermondsey, straight into the 'cage' to the away end when ready. Think Bunch of Grapes and Barrowboy and Banker are the generally recommended ones for away fans, have been to both.

Ultimately if managers win games, they are popular and they hold the cards in the dressing room. If they don’t win games then they lose power. Farke hasn’t really changed the things he says in the media from this season to last season. He has always been very good with his messaging and is a shrewd operator. However, last season Norwich didn’t win as many games and many fans were turning against him. If Norwich were still being mid table this season, you can pretty much guarantee fans would be calling for his head and saying how wrong Farke was to freeze out Nelson.

Go now my son, say 10 hail Farke's and never sin again.😀
  42. 1 point
really ? perhaps you could come up with a suitably chant for throw ins as well would reduce the time stuck with only the game to watch and if that is not enough the crowd could sing along to requests "and this one goes out to Terry in the Lower River End who suffers from bad asthma and is requested by all his mates in row 7... song number 307. What a friend we have who wheezes, so all join in now...."

That table is rubbish anyway. Unless the rules have been changed, last time I looked all clubs played the same number of games Think that is known as a fundemental error

I have always seen Farke has a very balanced character, from day one. He is determined but humble with it....and that has little to do with coming from Germany and managing in England. He has assembled a team around a strategy. Webber was clearly the draw. Norwich also was an upgraded version of Lippstadt FC I reckon if I might suggest. In my view, he inspires confidence with everyone, fans and players alike. Now, that is someone very special indeed. He is not a person so defended like Lambert but open, honest and emotionally available. We are very lucky to have such a character and this kind of leader ( if only we had such leadership in our national politics). I am so pleased it has come (is coming) good for him and his footballing principles are bearing fruit. I've never enjoyed or felt such a connection with my team in my 50 years of support. I rarely enjoy feeling pride but these last few weeks have been special.

It's quite clear that it is part of the overall plan to include the fans as much as possible, to make that connection. It returns football to what it should be - about people. It restores the connection between players and fans, making them seem more human and part of the club and Daniel has been brilliant with the way he has approached things, not only on the pitch, but with the way he talks so honestly and openly. He has embraced the club and the area totally and seems at one with the task he took on. I don't want to get too deep with it, but the philosophy is absolutely in line with the living in the now buddhist way of looking at things. Loving kindness and respect throughout, everyone is important and valued, no chasing dreams, just making sure you're focussed on the present and enjoying that. That is why things seem so great at the moment - it is just brillant to be part of such togetherness. Success will come on the back of that if the spirit is maintained (and there is no reason why it shouldn't). Bill Shankly once said football is more important than religion...well I wouldn't go that far, but certainly, what is happening at our club is totally special. So Farke is the focal point of that and he has a briliant philosophy, but it hasn't happened by chance, it comes from the desire of the club to go down this route - from DS/MJW at the top, Ed Balls who I believe had a lot to do with how things have developed, their appointment of Webber who in turn enabled us to get Farke and the kind of players we have. People say it is great to be a Norwich fan at the moment and that is true - stay in the moment and good things will happen - it's a philosophy for life.

Not sure on the fee paid - Transfermarkt has it at £260k - I think nominal is the key word as I don't think we'll find out the absolute figure. On a sidenote - James Maddison has been bloody good to City hasn't he? £23mill in transfer profit AND the opportunity to watch Kenny Mclean regularly whilst JM was up in Scotland with him. I'm sure the club were already aware of KM but having our guys there frequently to keep tabs on Maddison no doubt had some level of impact on us ending up going for Kenny.

FWIW, I agree that farke under-performed with the squad he had last year but like many on this site, thik that it''s resonable to give him a dozen or so games before making firm judgements this year. Re ownership, I''d love to have an owner like the Brighton one, (Bloom?) - a genuine fan with megabucks. However, according to the recent Sunday Times rich list, there is nobody with comparable wealth in Norfolk. So then you are left with "investors" whose log term aim is to tkemoney out of  the club rather than put it in.With regards to the people that you asset wish to buy the club, as a PLC, they have to report offers to shareholders. There have been none. Most investors wantto buy at low prices - for example, Barnesley and, almost certainly recently recently, Villa. We are not likely to be picked up on the cheap until we are relegated or in financial difficulty. I think this unlikely: I know that you disagree.I would also question some of the assertios that you have made about financial investment bringing results - it is pretty clear that this is often not the case and that clubs with smaller budgets and "tighter" playing squads are as competitive. The ones that really struggle are those that have "gone for it" and failed.
