It's all very sad. What a way to trash a legend. Couldn't have looked more of a **** if he'd kicked Delia 's mums walking stick away.

Good because they will drop themselves in it. Unfortunately for Lambert the cameras show what happened rather than the pack of lies he has come out with and quite clearly show that their coaches are in our technical area and that he pushes one of our coaches in the chest and escalates the whole episode before being moved away by the steward. Hopefully we can also ask the FA to take a look at Chambers behaviour and give him a ban for grabbing Godfrey's crotch at the same time.

New charges been brought apparently. 11 Ipswich players charged with failure to control the ball.

On main page now that Lambert has complained that steward pushed him. Full quote: "The steward pushed me very hard Totally uncalled for. He pushed very hard. He pushed me so hard, that by the time I realised where I was, I was managing Nuneaton Borough in the National League North".

From Daniel Farke's presser........... "Todd got a hit against his ankle. It's not too bad and I think he'll be okay for Preston. Emi is used to being kicked! He's okay." 😀

Dear Mr Lambert, I have watched several times and must say your version of events is not what is shown with the Sky highlights. This is what I saw Aarons was badly fouled Ipswich players were making out he was exaggerating ( presumably to save their player being sent off ) Lambert was then seen approaching our technical area but the guy who managed them in the 2nd half was already there confronting our bench. I must confess I do not know if our staff left our technical area as you can’t see the line but certainly our staff were not in their technical area. Lambert was clearly pushing members of our coaching staff. The stewards formed a line initially to try to stop the two benches coming together. When Lambert tried to push his way through this the one steward man handled him away. If you considered that to be roughty tuffty then you would not have lasted a minute against the guys you wanted to fight. Chambers then wades in but runs off like a little lamb when Hanley walks towards him. He then starts on Aaron’s presumably as he was smaller and less likely to put him into next week. Our guy sent off did nothing. Now I have no idea if any of our staff offered him a fight however quite clearly as he goes down the tunnel he raises his fist to our guy and points at him body language clearly saying he was offering a fight to our coach. The biggest problem was you expected to get lots of abuse and you didn’t. It upset you to find out we really are not bothered anymore. The FA should also be looking at the performance of their referee a total disgrace not only not sending Ipswich players off but couldn’t even get the right Norwich coach. How on earth is no retrospective action being taken against Chambers

This is priceless. After the match he claimed someone came into his technical area, but the footage clearly shows all the action taking place to the left of the players' tunnel, in-front of the Norwich bench. Nor did anyone run 30 yards anywhere before he kicked off - there wasn't time. I'd say that he needs to be careful, as he is clearly deluded, and what he says can be construed as lying, so surely he is guilty of bringing the game into disrepute? Classless.

We don't need to get involved in counter claims. Probably best to let the FA watch the video and decide for themselves. I have no confidence in the FA getting it right whatever we do. Farke will just wink and get on with the business of promotion. No distractions needed 😉

Don't push or shove anybody. Just wink.

Lambert will have to remain with Ipswich. Seems a bit harsh for a bit of handbags but there you go...
  13. 2 points
Amazing that they can investigate this handbag spat but not the Mings thuggery.

I will never take a perverse pleasure in a player getting a serious injury. Especially something as soul and career destroying as an ACL injury. Good luck to Sears in his recovery and hopefully he’s back playing again as soon as possible.

Incredible to think we sold the Murphys for 20 mil+ combined, and picked this guy up for next to nothing (was it less than 2 mil?) Fantastic player, really has it all and refreshingly combative for such a creative player.

Last season, Fulham lost just one game from the 16th December to the end of the season - the final game against Birmingham (had they won, they would have achieved automatic promotion). Fulham went on to defeat Derby and Aston Villa in the play-offs to secure promotion to the PL. Imagine the morale in the squad, and the sense of achievement, to go so long unbeaten and then to win the play-offs. In the summer Fulham spent £112m on new players. With a new manager long since in charge, Fulham started on Saturday with just three players who lined up in that play-off game at Wembley - Mitrovic, Ream and Odoi. Four more of that Wembley squad were on the bench. There were eleven changes to the play-off squad. So for an outlay of £112m, Fulham have won just 4 from 26 games, losing 17. They are currently 8 points adrift from safety (9 if you include their dreadful goal difference). Norwich have surprised most of us this season, so as far as I'm concerned, if they were to get promoted, next season in the PL would amount to a 'free-hit'. That would mean giving the majority of the current squad a chance to prove themselves in the PL. If the likes of Aarons, Lewis and Godfrey are being scrutinized by PL scouts, then they should be good enough to play in the PL for Norwich. No silly money wasted on 'big transfers'. It is far more satisfying picking up players for 'peanuts' and proving others wrong.Save funds for future 'rainy' seasons. Sticking with Farke regardless of the results. The entertainment, effort and style served up on a weekly basis by the current crop of players deserves continuity next season in the PL should promotion ensue.

Latest from the BBC tonight... Nolan was booked, but in the aftermath former Norwich manager Lambert had to be restrained by two big boys wearing the gilet jaunes and a police officer before referee Peter Bankes dismissed him and Domogalla. Lambert, 12, watched the second half of his side's 3-0 defeat from the stands at Carrow Road.

Six QPR players booked in injury time - must be some sort of record. Begs the question why the other five didn’t get ‘stuck in’........

Surely Frank Lampard's Derby's Frank Lampard will have his Derby side set up to be too good for that filthy , classless lot......0-3 with the goals from a trio of ex-scummers in Waghorn,Lawrence and Marriott...

Fast forward a couple of years to Paul Lambert in a pub, telling anyone who will listen that he was once considered a successful football manager...

Compare his comments to Farke’s comments in the press conferences and there’s a huge gulf in both maturity and class - I’m actually completely embarrassed for Paul Lambert, what is he, 12?

For clarity... Aldborough is a beautiful North Norfolk Village (just north of Blickling). Aldeburgh is a beautiful Suffolk coastal village. Both very nice places on a day like today, far from the madness going on at Portman Road.

Lambert is like an absent minded gravedigger......someone whose lost the plot......
  28. 1 point
This is getting silly. When did a manager line up interviews so that he can deliver a message like "let's have a fight?" It might appeal to the idiot ITFC fans, but there are many more ordinary (if deluded) folks that have to ask themselves if this really is what they want? Lambert has got his old mate Roy Keane down there soon, wonder if he fancies a dust up with him?

The fourth official, Andy Woolmer, was right there throughout the entire incident, and his evidence will be crucial. I have a feeling that the general perception of a mistake being made when Domogalla was carded (rather than Wooten), could be wrong; Domogalla did get involved, certainly very vocally, at one point, and Woolmer's close quarters account in the ref's ear at the time would almost certainly have determined who received cards.

You should see him when he's just come out of a yellow dressing room....................................
  31. 1 point
White collar boxing is a thing. Seeing as he blatantly has a soft spot for us, maybe him and Wootten could have a tear-up on the undercard of the Grant Holt wrestling thing? All proceeds to The Nest, of course, as we know Paul will be happy to help our burgeoning academy produce more gems.

When we hit the top of the table back in the autumn after our amazing run of form, I looked at the fixtures coming up and commented about how we were due to play 7 out of 8 games against (then) top 10 teams over Christmas and the New Year, culminating in playing Leeds then Ipswich to cap it all off. While some people argued that these results would define our season, I was more optimistic that we would be able to make up some lost ground in the following weeks with a much easier series of games. I did not imagine that we would be sitting top at this point, but here we are. As it happens, we gained 13 points from those 8 games and only really lost ground to Sheffield Utd out of the teams competing for the top 2. The main reason we are top is that Leeds lost 4 games in that period including, crucially, to us. We are averaging below 2 points per game, which is fairly unusual for the team top of the table. However, only Leeds are within 5 points of us (although West Brom could be 4 behind by winning their game in hand) and we have a much more straightforward run of fixtures coming up. Of course, no games are easy at this level and there are some tough fixtures in our run in but ,in comparison to the last couple of months, it should be a bit easier. In contrast, Sheffield Utd have games against Boro', West Brom and Leeds in their next 7 matches; West Brom play Forest, Villa, Sheffield Utd and Leeds in the next 5; and Leeds obviously play both. For me, this is the period where automatic promotion will be won or lost. By the international break in March we could well be 10 points clear of 3rd place; and this is what I hope will unfold. Ultimately, it looks like a lower than normal points total will be required to win the league and I think 85 points will be enough for 2nd place, with a number of teams clustered around the 80 point mark. 8 more wins and 1 draw would get us there so we could potentially lose 5 or 6, even though we have only lost once since September. I still think we could go on and get 90+ points just by continuing our form (ignoring the awful start). Here's the latest version of my predictive algorithm final table; could Bristol City really sneak into the top 3?
  33. 1 point
Yep, I'm with Orly on Pukki, Aarons, & Emi but it hasn't been as close with so many potential and deserved winners for years...maybe since Lee "Messi" Croft won it.

He is the only player in the middle who looks comfortable carrying the ball 20-30 yards forward to change the position of play and also the only one with the physicality to win the odd aerial ball in the middle of the park.

Speaking for myself "final nail in the coffin" pretty obviously refers to the fact that 1p5wich, losing one of their few players who can score goals, now have effectively no chance of survival. It clearly didn't refer to the player himself. All I would say is that it's interesting we've had a lot of comments on this thread, relative to the number of comments about Vrancic, Buendia and Pukki, all of whom suffered repeated fouls which could easily have injured all 3, and Vrancic actually was injured and substituted before half time.

Think that our methodology is a little stretched with Tettey and Trybull as a pair. It’s solid and tough, though lacks sharp option angles for fluid passing. Tettey is a great terrier alongside a technical tactician who moves well into spaces and is comfortable on the half turn in deeper link areas. Him and Trybull as a pair drift into battle mode a fraction too early when paired together and ice-in-The-mind passing suffers as a result. Both Vrancic and Leitner achieve this naturally to the benefit of the previous pass from defence and next ball - vertically forward when possible, circulating calmly if necessary. Maclean might get a chance for that reason. Nothing quite went right for Stieperman on Sunday and his frustration with himself showed. The chances of ‘punishment’ from Farke for that game vs Bolton are zero I would think. It’s not his message. Expect him to be first name down to prove that very point. Parma

8 more wins for me. With some draws thrown in there. That will do it.

Farke seems to be one step ahead and will have already appraised Preston I would imagine. He will know that their form (last 6 games for example) is second in the table ( jointly with us) and they make for a dangerous opponent. Expect him to say something like this today. But you're right ABC, you'd think we have come out of a 'phase' of games. And we have. Now, we have some intriguing games where we could create some headroom. Just need to keep doing our stuff. If I could give you some reassuring words, wouldn't we do what we've been doing for the last 4 months over the next 15 games? Where are the real weaknesses I would also ask. Time to believe now.

The person I feel most sorry for in all this is Duncan. It's just like trying to parody Donald Trump - the reality is so ridiculous that it's almost beyond parody (I did say 'almost' Duncan). 😉

Whilst I wouldn't celebrate a footballer's injury I have no sympathy for Town or their supporters ... it has been a genuine pleasure watching their results come in each week. For me it will make our promotion sweeter (if it happens) if they get relegated too. The fortunes of our respective clubs goes in cycles. Enjoy it whilst the sun shines and we can gloat, ridicule and rub salt into the wounds ... that's part of being a football supporter and it won't last forever!

From the first time we saw him it was obvious he has something special. Nicking him from under Leeds’ nose makes it even more sweet.
